Funny I own a 718 gt4 and is going rough the same thought process looking at gt3s of 996 and 997 gen. I’m curious to know what’s 996 gt3 attractions to you compared to the gt4 ?

@@ThereIsNoSubstitute The 996 is more analog and raw. Hard to describe what raw means but I guess it feels more like a race car. The GT4 is a fantastic car and I was quicker with it around the track. You can feel the evolution. The 996 feels more connected and communicative. It is definitely noisier inside. I have a cup car exhaust on it so it sounds glorious. The GT4 feels more planted on the front end and easier to drive since it’s mid engine. The 996 has more understeer but is manageable in a good way if you change your approach. It handles like an older 911 so you have to plant the front end under braking. It's very rewarding to throttle steer out of a corner. I deliberately oversteer it now since I figured out how to make it slide when I want. The car rewards or punishes you with what ever you put into it. The steering feel is crazy good and you feel every pebble. Some people might not like it because it's more difficult to drive fast but to me that's the best part of it. It’s easy to work on too, dropped the engine, changed all the coolant lines and got the tubes welded myself. When I first got it, I spun it because I was driving it like a GT4. It still holds its own with modern cars. If you’re more about street driving then GT4 is the way to go. The reason it’s not going for twice the money is the stupid headlights and some people think it has an Ims bearing. It’s got the GT1 race car based Mezger. i’m sure you know that but this shit makes me laugh. The 996 GT3 is not a car for posers and car shows, lol.

You’re just saying that because it’s cheap and American if it was 139k and Italian you’d not say it wasn’t. The regular c8 just with the z51 package is 0-60 under 3 seconds from a Mid engine NA v8. It’s literally the benchmark for supercar performance. Chevy making it in exclusive doesn’t mean it’s not a super car. It’s just that being a super car isn’t as impressive as it was anymore

@@allackballack you may be right. I just don’t love the regular C8. The other two models are really impressive to me! As far as overall performance goes and Chevy’s technological advancements for this car, it may qualify as a super car. The Z06 and E-Ray definitely are in my book!

I’d like scissor doors. When this was released with the rear engine, one could probably have rebadged it with an exotic nameplate and most folks would be fooled. It’s definitely the best GM has put out. Some of their designs are questionable today the least.

C8 z51 is slower then a m4 comp xdrive and that isn't 300k

The C8 have different mode rides, from soft to Track. The same was with my two previous M3 and a 328 M Sport. Seems to me you don't have that level of car but a fan of that particular BMW model.​@PEACEOUTXX1

Yea the z06 is but the base model isn't even close. A bmw m3 comp xdrive and bmw m4 xdrive are faster

The new vette is so good it’s got European car fans preferring straight line speed over track performance of an American car. You just don’t like American cars it doesn’t matter what the corvette it is. It hurts you inside that it’s a better car than it’s European competition. Just wait till the Zora puts up koenigseg numbers at a quarter of the price you’re gonna be crying even more.

(Sam carlegion m4 vs c8) go ahead and watch that and check the QM and 0-60 times .. also keep an eye on when the m4 is in RWD mode and what happens once it's in Xdrive during the race. The c8 GETS GAPPED. Everyone knows the m4 xdrive is faster then a c8 from a dig and a roll.
