This is an oscilloscope deconstruction of Wonder Panorama from Mega Man ZX.
Composer: Ryo Kawakami
Notes:
Theme of Area F. This song's internal name is STAGE_F.
I used VG Music Studio to deconstruct this one, because VGMTrans didn't preserve the crunchy quality of channel 5.
The bassline instrument sounds straight from the Mega Drive.
Channels 8 and 9 have the same melody, but 8 plays separate notes, while 9 uses a longer prerecorded sample containing several notes.
The harmony between channel 2 and the others is really nice.
This is one of my favorite ZX stage themes just for its smooth and chilly sound.

In Spring Valley, one of the unique behaviors a-life can have looks the same as normal flight, but has a condition where a nearby a-life will start following it around. The following a-life shows the same animation as the mating dance, but its flight path is different and breeding does not occur.
Soft Museum Singing behavior

In Soft Museum, one of the unique behaviors a-life can have is a variation of the singing behavior which causes nearby a-life to show an animation with its back turned to the camera, moving one arm. Is it conducting?
A-life throwing behavior

When an a-life with genetic behavior 12 touches another a-life, it may pick up and throw it, causing the thrown partner to have a shocked expression on its face. This video was recorded without audio.
Nightmaren and nightopian creating egg

When you throw a nightmaren and it hits an a-life, an egg will be created from both of their genetics. However, this kills the a-life parent. This video also shows the rare occurrence of an offspring that inherited no nightmaren parts.
Mepian and nightopian creating egg

Nightopians have an inherent fear of mepians and will flee from them. The mepian will keep chasing it until it manages to collide.
A-life singing

Paralooping a-life

What happens when you paraloop a nightopian and a mepian. They have different scream sound effects, and paralooping a mepian gives you an 80 point bonus. Both show an animation of the a-life being sucked into the paraloop. Recorded using Snipping Tool and Yabause
Happy pian

Air Traffic Control behavior

In Stick Canyon, one of the unique behaviors a-life can have is signaling with a light stick. There are two signals. First, the a-life will hold the stick steady. When this happens, a nearby a-life will stop moving. Second, it will switch to waving the stick, allowing the other a-life to pass. The one hovering above NiGHTS' head was not participating in this behavior, it just has a high opinion...
Mepian and Nightmaren

Two interesting behaviors are showcased here. One is the tendency of mepians to attempt to mate with nightmarens. The other is the unavoidable death caused by the nightmaren eating the mepian. Thus we see that being attracted to your natural predator is a poor strategy for survival.

Thanks for the thorough tutorial. I'm sorry that this is probably a very rudimentary question, but I'm trying to do my own thing. I get an error that I can't use cmake at make --- $ make cmake -S . -B build -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=RelWithDebInfo make: cmake: No such file or directory make: *** [Makefile:9: release] Error 127 --- The same thing happens when I try to cmake. --- $ cmake -S . -B build -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=RelWithDebInfo -bash: cmake: command not found --- I installed the cmake package with cygwin and proceeded, I get “nlohmann-json not find”. I thought about proceeding that way, but these not specified in the prerequisite package in the first place. so I think I'm doing something fundamentally wrong. Is there some kind of prerequisite base configuration?

Probably my favourite on ZX’s soundtrack, mysterious, melancholic yet hopeful, cool as ice. Also channel 4’s melody sounds a lot like Ikaruga’s stage 1 theme, always thought someone should make a mashup of the two songs. Thanks for the deconstruction.

This theme has an inherent _wrongness_ to it that seems to be missing in nearly every subsequent arrangement of it. Weil is deranged, delusional, and wants nothing more than to crush all hope- something this theme conveys well (alongside the Ragnarok Core theme).
Anyone know the chords for the intro (second channel)? Sounds like four 2-note chords, but I'm not sure.
They are 3-note chords. In order, they are (G4, F5, C6), (F#4, F5, B5), (F4, E5, A#5), and (E4, D5, A5)

@@SomeDemoMain aah, assuming I didn't make a mistake, the base sample itself is not in c key so you might need to adjust for that
Why does the bell sound like something straight from Windows 3.1 or Windows 95?
Do BGM 130 and 450 use unique samples?

what the hell were they cooking with 6 and 7, one of the weirdest sounds i've ever heard isolated in a game soundtrack
it's not bad, but it feels weird, like what's heard doesn't match the wave patterns even though it does
It's funny to think that someone could've come along and error'd your way into a special area or found a special communication code to a special area (area z) which is why this sounds like a main world theme. Also channel 1 is trying to fight me for some reason.
Channel 6 out here got you feeling like a Sonic Green Hill Zone stage.
3 & 4 together give off this soft vibe of revelation. I can see why it came back in the ending.
