Big mud hole on trail 27 at Windrock
Around 17 min in yall should have winched through the muddy spot. This is NOT tread lightly. Try it 3-5 times then winch through. It’s not cool that you made it all torn up like that. Imagine someone wanting to take their stock 31” tire rig and now they can’t make it past your ruts. Otherwise great video so far
Badge of honor Jeep trail. Could do this in a car
@@richardharris2062 i mean it's not the hardest trail out there but it was still fun.
What an honest assessment of this product. I am very interested in this item and you have made me aware of some of its drawbacks. I appreciate you.
@grariaz7051 Thank you. I'm glad it was helpful.
Mine does this randomly I have a 14 2dr jk on 35’s manual. And I have to use my flash cal super chips programmer. And sometimes reset it twice to 87 octane. Also notice that the quality of gas does this. Especially gas going up and down 75 in Georgia to Florida. Pings a lot. Try unhooking the battery for awhile. Then let the jeep relearn its throttle position. You potentially could have a bad throttle body. For some reason on the 3.6 the throttle wires are tied into the oil pressure switch. I had a short near the oil switch. But it kept throwing throttle body codes. Also if you have a super chips programmer. I use towing for the trails. Feels like I have a bit more low end from idle.
@Superman01811 i replace the throttle body and it had no affect however I didn't use an oem throttle which these engines don't like non oem electronics for whatever reason. Maybe I'll try it with the tow tune and see what that does.
Air down to at the most 15psi
I was at 12.5 psi that day.
I ride these trails on the cliffs all the time, there are many lookouts probably 5 or 6 that I've found
@kenrosemergy2151 somehow we didn't find any of the look outs lol. Still a fun area though.
Nice video, the wife and I are planning a trip to the UP this fall. The part of the trail where it took you and your buddy a few tries to get through would you think stock suspension and 33’s be fine or would you avoid it?
@TheInstigator918 Thank you. I would definitely be cautious with that set up on that particular trail. That was the trail on onx called cliff mine drive. You still might be able to get to the over look are of that trail from a different access point tho. However even if you avoid the area all together there's still plenty of great stuff to see.
@ thanks, forgot to mention it’s a 24 Willy’s 4xe so the same suspension as the Rubi not sure if that would make a difference. I’ll check the trail out on onx and go from there.
@@TheInstigator918 i would say your biggest limit is your tire size. That trail had some deep mud and some larger rocks. The mud blue were stuck in is definitely not somewhere you want to be by yourself or without a winch.
You knew what you'd be getting the Jeep into when you were shopping. Because of the need for left foot braking when crawling you should've bought an automatic.
mine does fine with a manual 😙
That's not the problem. It's not a problem with roll back or needing to hold the brake. There is definitely a problem with the engine becauseit doesn'tstay running. My old jeep didn't have that problem with a manual.
thats a sign you need a xj
@hayzersolar right lol anything with a straight 6 would be fine.
Then go with a TJ and not an XJ.
@@Foof50 that's what I want lol
in 4 low in 1st gear it should crawl up that what engine do you have if it is a v6 swap it for a straight 6 or v8 the jeep v6 is junk for off-road the way it stalls sounds like a fuel problem bigger injectors or better air flow the manual v6 the 1st gear is lower then a 5 sp 1st gear most off-roaders prefer the straight 6 with 5 sp with 4 10 gears
@kenmiller5954 it's a v6 with a 6 speed manual and 4.10 gears and a 4.1 transfer case. It really should crawl like you said but it doesn't. I have seen some people talk about needing bigger injectors. The real issue is the fact that everything is run off computers.
Is it better or worse for fullsize ( Jeeps and the like) now that Badlands seem to be catering more for the SxS community?
@muddyWW as far as the trails go they are still fine for fill size rigs but definitely over the summer the place is over crowded with sxs. Your better off going during the colder months when the sxs aren't there as much.
@@JeepsLimited Colder months I go south, I hate anything below 50°
@muddyWW that's probably the best move lol I don't actually mind wheeling in the snow.
@@JeepsLimited I wan to do snow but it has to be untouched deep snow. But it has to be deep, 3 foot or more
@muddyWW that would be fun. Ive never done any snow that deep.
I have the same issue you described with my 6 spd JK as well. I'm on 37s stock gears (3.71), endlessly stalling. I try to give some gas and ride the clutch to overcome it, at the cost of sliding the clutch.
@silverfoxjk yeah it's pretty frustrating. I have 37s with 4.10 gears however I don't think that has anything to do with it. It's got to be some kind of engine function/ sensor function problem. I've been trying to figure it out for a year and a half
Considering 4.88 is the recommended for 35s, you probably wanna have 5.13. Maybe do a proper gearing before tossing bigger wheels on to keep power proper
@Foof50 the 4.10s should be fine with 37s. I don't think it's a power issue. There's some issues with the engine functioning properly. Some sensor or something keeping it from having power at low rpms.
You know that you could use your winch and not phuck up the trails for everyone else right?
we are experts at making other people who do these trails look like pros 🤣
We can't all be winners.
You better off going through the wheel well.
@TopNoTchVSOP wouldn't the battery tray be in the way?
... please use fresh air ... your brain will not out-live the toxins ... use any 3/4" pliable hose extended outside and upwind ....
Someone used water out of the hose to fill it up. Gotta use distilled. Flush it a few times. Makes sure you're getting your heater core as well. Then change it every few months to try and get the flakes out.
Looks like the Baxter boys need to do a little more engineering. Whole thing looks like a pain in the butt. I have a brand new grand Cherokee with the pentastar engine, don't think ill take a chance on this .
Will the lifting from the pumpkin damage the axle (cause leaking)? What size are the wood planks? Thanks and very helpful video
@Dillon-i1i lifting it from the pumpkin should not damage anything. I've slammed them into rock's pretty hard with no issues so lifting the car with them should not be a problem. And the wood blocks i used are i think 3x4 peices of scrap i had laying around
Galvanic corrosion you need the right coolant.
It's called electrolysis. It's from having either the wrong coolent or just water in the cooling system.
@@gailmaplesden7380 i used to have just water in it a lot over the summer.
Unfortunately you already have a problem because it's a piece of shit Jeep.. 😂😂
It looks like someone tried using some head gasket solution like Blue Devil cuz that’s not only corrosion alone. You will need to run some CLR thru the system for a couple days to strip that out.
Bleach in the coolant. Seen it numerous times. Rusts the whole coolant system and the engine. Sorry.
It's a very destructive revenge tactic.
Commit dish wash and that’s not rust just flush your system really good but pinch off the lines to the heater core you don’t want anymore of that crap in there that has to be then fish the heater core separately and send her off
@mudboysjeeps92 i ended up getting a bottle of cooling system cleaner. It was only like $5 so why not.
@ true
people using tap water. flush with clr as best as possible and replace the radiator
@@jstnl2000 that's probably what I'm going to do. Already gor a new radiator, t stat and housing, and hoses
@JeepsLimited be weary of the heater core and summer bypass valve, and as much corrosion i see, may want to consider doing the freeze plugs.
@jstnl2000 yeah someone else mentioned the freez plugs. I guess I'm going to start by flushing it and seeing what happens lol
This is why you use distilled or deionized water in your coolant
@my2vwillgapyou at the time i filled this last it was a trail better so it got water from the garden hose lol
Our 91 had this issue. You can flush just use regular water. We used an actual coolant flush and it ate the rust on the freeze plugs and made them all leak too. Easy to change somewhat except the one on the back.
@TexasSilverJewelers I really should have replied the rear freeze plug when I had the body off.
3:31, should of turned left. That's trail 15 I believe. A fun short trail
We ran 15 and 38 on the last day. We didn't want to get in over our heads on the first day lol. I posted those videos a few months ago if you wanted to check them out.
@@JeepsLimited My motto is never give up the opportunity to run 15
@muddyWW not a bad motto lol my winch got a good work out on it lol
Best Solution.... Switch to 5w 30 Full Synthetic oil . 💯👍
@randymiller5008 I'm just a little hesitant to change the viscosity of the the oil. In theory the thicker oil can not move as fast so it's potentially getting less oil to parts.
@@JeepsLimitedI believe the thicker oil won’t flow pass the anti drain back valve as easy as the thinner oil.
It still requires full oil pressure to open the valve. So , it doesn't eliminate dry start's 🧐
@randymiller5008 yeah pretty much. It might help reduce how long it takes to get oil since the filter is already full but that's about it.
ooo AI voice slay
@_ltor That's monotone movie trailer voice. it really helped turn this boring old video into a theatrical masterpiece.
Curious how those 37s on the stock rims holding up, I got 37s and they rub like crazy on the tub at the rear, I got methods 0 offset
@silverfoxjk well i do have like 1.5" spacers them. They only rub a little bit when I'm aired down to 10ish psi and it actually rubs on the control arms in the rear and the front driver rubs on the frame only when turned left and the tire is stuffed. Otherwise they don't rub.
can you share the link of where you purchased the fan or if you remember the thickness of it
@jmc10 this is the one I got. I got it on Amazon. Tho I will say you could probably fit a 10" fan with no issues. A-Team Performance - Universal Type 120021 8 Inches High Performance - 1700 CFM 12 Volts Electric Radiator Cooling Fan with 10-Piece Reversible Flat 9" x 9" x 2-1/2" Blades a.co/d/83wevxq
Great video :) more filmed from the outside rather than hood cam would make em even better
@@silverfoxjk thank you. And I know the dash cam stuff is honestly is kind of boring to watch but with how quickly we are trying to move through this trail getting out to videotape stuff we never would have made it to camp in a day.
I’m have issues with engine stalling at stop lights when the engine is cold I’m going to try cam phase cam shaft sensors and the crankshaft sensor. I would recommend checking your vacuum pump
@@donaldfuller5058 Stalling at stop lights could definitely be a crank position sensor problem.
@donaldfuller5058 what would the vacuum pump affect in this scenario? I thought they were ony for added brake performance.
Not too shabby!
@@_ltor I do it nice because I do it twice.
Recently picked up a 95 yj, with an uncompleted engine rebuild. Hopefully have it back together this spring. The red looks good, nice work!
@rampid23 nice. Is it a 4.0? And thank you.
@JeepsLimited unfortunately no. I wish it was, but for $500 I couldn't pass it up. A 4.0 swap may be in the future if I can find a complete donor jeep.
@rampid23 other then being a little slow I don't think there is anything wrong with the 4 cylinder. If you need tourque for rock crawling or what not just throw a different transfer case or axle gears in it.
Hey bud just cought your video. will that be good for a grand cherokee as well or will it be to high and possible hit the hood plus the engine cover may be in the way, they need to do away with that up above filter and relocate it at the bottom
@james6275 to be honest I'm not sure how they fit on a grand cherokee. I'm sure they can answer that if you contact them. And i agree they need to re design it lol. Thanks for watching the video and sorry I can't be more helpful.
the question I have about the baxter filter adapter controversy is. Since synthetic oils have been around from the late1920's and became popular for automobiles in 1960's and 1970's. the synthetic oil manufacturers are the same manufacturers of conventional oils also but for many years have claimed and still claim today that synthetic oils bond to metal and that reduces wear from dry starts, friction, heat and cold starts. so how can baxters claim be true, if synthetic oils solve this problem already?
@TwoFeatherChannel probably bc the synthetic oils claim is false as well lol. I personally don't run synthetic oil in my jeep.
@@JeepsLimited same could be said about conventional oil claims being false then, since the same companies engineers produce both.
@TwoFeatherChannel also true. I only run conventional bc that's what the guy that sold me my engine told me to do.
PCV
You guys really didn't give a shit about making the trails worse huh?
Of course they don’t, they’re from Illinois. FIBs come to WI and never give a shit. I deal with the snowmobilers. Same thing. Zero respect for anything. Put a wall up and keep em in Illinois.
Right?? I see a winch bumper. Is that just for show?
FIBs making trails worse. Shocker
Shocking ....
LONG LIVE THE JEEP YJ !
@VLEEZY1 heck yeah
Never saw that area at badlands
@gz4405 It's kind of hidden behind the main part of the quarry. There's actually a lot of stuff around the quarry in the trees that I think a lot of people don't know about.
This is too much road damage. Please remember that you are driving on property that is not yours.
