@gustavekiller Correct, I gave MTV 1987 another listen and it is very much different.

@gustavekiller If that's true then the performance (or that chorus at least) is pre-recorded and playbacked. I have a supposed "live in Cincinnati 1987" and the chorus sounds exactly the same. I also believe the 1987 MTV performance sounds exactly the same too.

This is great audio of a great, great singer in his prime. Sadly this is a thing of the past. They have Richie sing I'll be there for u, they stopped playing "Always" all together, when they do play "In These Arms" they play it 3 whole steps down from the original and Jon still cant hit the notes at the end. I love the band, it's just sad.
