You can easily do this section with no store or upgrade with no damage. I’ve done it plenty of times. This part is actually a lot easier than anyone may think. The section before the jill and wesker fight tho… lol kind of pain in the ass

That's not how it works. The perfect block is triggered when you hit a Lycan in the head before they hit you with certain attacks. It's not just with the grapple, it also works with their weapon attacks. The reason why it seems inconsistent with getting the Lycan to be stunned by the hit to the head is because the elevation of your character is a factor to consider, which is really dumb. When standing on ground, you have to be below the Lycan when you're both standing on an incline or on flat ground with the Lycan for the hit to the head to work. In the latter case, not all flat ground works. Once the elevation is correct, the counter will work when you hit the Lycan in the head before it hits you with an attack, allowing you to let the Lycan grab you, then press the block button to kick him away. Another thing to note is that when the Lycan is in the animation of being kicked away, he cannot be killed but he will still take damage. Overall, this mechanic is badly implemented and it reeks of rushed development without proper playtesting.
