Testing Miata Fender Vent Design (NA/NB) !
Innovative solution for those with a touch of OCD! Awesome
Thanks, we thought so too!
I was looking for something exactly like this for my na
Sweet!!! Our first batch is coming in this week :)
Love the cinematography in this video. Well done!
Appreciate the feedback on the video editing! 🙏
I have a NB Miata and I really believe in R theory as a company!
Thanks so much for your support!
So much color scheme ideas to do up an engine bay with these!
It's all about personal preference, so get creative!
We need BRZ/GR86 support! 😉
Which products were you thinking? 🤔
@@rtheorymotorsports Aero/Chassis braces / master cylinder brace / buffeting deflector / Phone mount / LCA brake duct insert / drive shift mounts / CV boot heat shield / Action camera mount to name a few things. This platform is in need of some R Theory swag 👌
I like the black one
I think we all know the block one Robs you of power
first
Nickel Chrome 😍
Titanium FTW 👍👍
First!
Get out of commie states
hah! wish it was that simple!
how many bushings/window?
1 bushing on each side, our kit comes with 2 bushings to cover both windows.
Oh my God, do not fucking do this to your car. Don’t do anything to it, it was assembled in Japan and is already perfect!
We respectively disagree! Everyone has different goals with their car and their build! Agreed that miatas are darn good from the factory, but there is still room for improvement :)
This thing is the coolest. Blows everyone away at the local AutoX ✌🏼
Glad to hear that! Let your autoX buddies know that it will probably fit their cars too! #nomorepainterstape
In the upper and lower sides also the OEM bushings are rigid (there is metal inside), so I don't see how It would change the chassis rigidity...
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The OEM bushings have a small metal backing plate inside, but they are still mostly rubber! At 0:38 in the video you can see how flexible the OEM bushings are. That's why such a simple modification results in an instantly noticeable difference in rigidity. You will love the bushings, they're one of the lowest dollar per smile mods out there!
@@rtheorymotorsports I've had them, I touched them and the stock, the lower and upper part (where they have to be hard for the chassis stiffness they are the same), but the stock have the rubber in the outer part to soften the door when you close it. If you want chassis rigidity you have to put under braces.
@@Moriggiastrange, I noticed a huge difference going over bumps/potholes/railroad tracks. car just feels more solid. these are worth doing IMO.
@@haveeffortgaming maybe the stock ones had wear?
@@Moriggia not at all, low mileage car too! but night and day difference felt for sure.
Erm, I don't get it; if the door was moving anything more than 1/16" during turns, we'd have contact marks all around the door perimeter where it would be rubbing against the body. We don't see this, so exactly how is it that these are "stiffening up handling"?
The soft OEM bushings do allow for some flex, you can look up reviews from other people lf if you don't believe us! Seeing is believing, you will absolutely love these door bushings in your Miata. Just look up other reviews from other people on how door bushings stiffened up their chassis! :) The door doesn't move around to the point where it rubs on the chassis, but it does move enough to let the chassis flex a little more! Do you have any other chassis stiffeners on your Miata yet?
Great idea, I appreciate the inkling. I do agree that this can further improve the body roll issue with this car; Though 'massive gains on body roll in the front end' just from a tighter door bushing.... Pretty far fetched, brothers. This, combined with after market strut tower braces (front & rear) as well as the under carriage brace... But your mod would be less than 2-3% of the total rigidity gained compared to the mods listed. Again though, I'm not underselling your entrepreneurship. Well played.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Dan!! The stiffer door bushings won't make as much of a difference as new sway bars or coilovers, but the increase in stiffness is very noticeable right away on the first drive! For that reason we think it's a no brainer mod, especially given how simple and affordable they are. Have you tried putting door bushings on your Miata yet?
crazy how much of a difference such a simple mod makes
Every Miata MX-5 should have them!

It looks like it rattles a bit, or are the screws just a little loose?
Woah saw this late! For what its worth, we've made a revision and fixed the rattle ✌🏼
No problem, thanks for replying still. Sounds good I’ll check it out.
So cool! I need one!
they're niceeee
HI I‘m missing one washer from your endlink kit. I live in GTA area, can I come pick up one?
Could you make the vents in carbon fiber?
Is there any temperature reduction visible on the temp gauge?
We have had several testimonials and reviews from customers--all of which claim a dramatic difference in cooling after the vents were installed. We hope to make our own video showing this one day.
Try putting a small lip in front of the vents to trip the boundary lawyer up. Your strings show are flowing over your vents not air up and out of them. That one that is most rear kinda shows air coming up and out of it
why does this "test" not start at 0mph, and have the other fender as a control?
Because it's about flow not acceleration & the other side is irrelevant to show venting
neat
thanks!
Any before/after coolant temp data on a car that has these vents installed? Similarly, any data comparing the effectiveness of these vents vs the Singular Motorsports vents?
Great video!!!
Thanks Nick!
Great vid, R Theory! I subscribed so I can learn more about your builds :D
