Read the Gospel of Thomas it will help you get to that point even though the Council of Nicea left it out of the Bible You can argue about who wrote it and when it was written all you like but the Gospel of Thomas gets to the heart of the issue

There is no reason to follow ANY of the arbitrary rules written down in the Bible, except for those that make our society work. Only problem: Those rules are not specific to the Bible. If people would follow all the Biblical rules and commandments as they are written down, all of these people would be in jail within a week.

Jesus doesn't need money, only greedy people. Jesus didn't charge to go to his church. He preached for free and lived on the kindness of strangers. He didn't have a brick and morter church. He slept where he could, many nights under an open sky. The idea of a church is just another ploy to make more money
