This video was developed as part of a training designed to assist school teams with their understanding of utilizing a multi-tiered process and data collected as part of a comprehensive evaluation. It is not intended to be all inclusive but does provide an example of how a meeting process could look. The link to further training materials is provided: drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BwL0JOyDlaT...
Nothing was discussed about the possibility of dyscalculia. Over and over, the team discussed 'processing' but nothing about reading scores/ability was brought in. I realize this is for training, but please demonstrate empathy and a full range of knowledge. I've never had a principal take the lead. That is a success if this role is not just an automated robot.
The decision should be made together by the entire team
Meetings. Like. This. Is. Nothing. But. A. Joke. They. Don’t. Help. The. Student. At. All. It. Just. Msssess. Up. There. Life’s.
Bro doesn't understand the purpose of intervention and classification. How does it not help students who are struggling? lol
Wonder. They. Are. Going. To. Talk. Get. Into. Taking. The. Vac. Or. Holding. Her. Back. For. Years. Until. She. Turns. 22.
Dear Educators, without putting parents on the spot, without assuming the processing speeds of parents, could we please take the time and use the empathy required to ensure that parents truly understand these meetings and data??
Lord, yes! I've never seen a meeting go like this. Ever. These people are helpful and explaining things. Hahhahahahahahhahahahahahahaha
Ok now this makes me more nervous for my IEP meeting tomorrow .. I don't feel prepared for this
Isn’t that the truth!!!!! Parents are already dealing with an array of emotions when hearing that their child has a disability. We must clearly communicate goals and needs without the use of confusing acronyms and technical verbiage.
Thank you Ma'am, for this informative session.
