That was a great camping trip. Wilderness camping at a site we first visited 8 years ago. The firepit area has improved over the years. We typically leave a day supply of cut and split logs. Nature continues to provide us dry standing dead wood.

Keith and Dave canoe camp at a not so primitive location. It's our eighth year at this same site. We were set for 3 days but reduced the trip by a night to avoid a 20 hour rain event. So glad we did that. Gear stayed dry and clean up was oh so simple.

Autumn arrived a month early this year. Dry weather, cool mornings, bright colors. Taking full advantage with a two night primitive canoe camping trip.
Pretty cool? That’s terrific! Think I’ll use a tomato cage. Good to have some tall support around if windy
Like it a lot. In my opinion, that top carriage bolt seems unnecessary. Love the bowl mule. Design to productive output
Gave a 👍up but it says 0. Don't get why. Im going to watch some more of your videos. For more good ideals.😊
Thank you for the thumbs up. The system might just need to reset before it the count changes.
Good video. Struggled with this problem too. The lighting is dark so seeing the joints to reinforce is vlose to neal but your ginger pointing helps. I'm going to attempt making these before fall.😊
Thank you for watching and taking time to commend. This video, as many others I post, are just to give people ideas of simple, low cost ways to improve a situation. Keep having fun out there.
What are You going to cook on that FORGE
I actually would wait until the flame receded substantially before attempting to cook over it. Thereafter, I would add additional fuel slowly to generate a much smaller flame. You could, however cook hot dogs or brats on a skewer. The large flame is also great for heating the area and warming your hands and feet.
Just put that empty pan on it & put Your small stuff on it .
Thank you for watching the video and taking time to compose a comment. Placing an empty pan directly over a fire may deform the pan. Otherwise I think the idea would work fine.
@@audyitter9637 in that case , how about using a.25" thick steel plate . Then use the small stuff .
@@johnhoward7298I think you nailed the solution in the second part - use a smaller amount of sized down fuel. As this was the first burn, I limited my fuel to 1/4 the recommended maximum amount.
Why not make up something like an ( Evernew Titanium Alcohol Stove Cross Stand ) but out of some metal you have laying around the area. Or one like the ( Leipupa stove folding emergency camping stove with pot support rack.) Not the stove , only the circular rack. A small BBQ Round rack if one can be located which would fit over your larger stove.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Yes, other solutions are available and I greatly encourage others to explore them.
You should do that sounds like a good video.
what a stupid lookin hat!
Sweet. Noticed its low side. What kind of water , just smooth water have you taken her in? Rain 🤓 Sure moves smooth and cuts well with just you paddling. Sweet. So is the place you are at with the beautiful trees and bird sound. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching and taking time to comment. I canoe about 100 times a year (on average). Thus, the weather conditions change from flat calm to 20 miles per hour with 30 mile per hour wind gusts. The waves begin to white cap at 18 miles per hour. This boat will take on water at the bow when it cuts directly into a white cap wave with the load of my 40 pound dog in the front and me sitting at the stern. The wind also plays heavily in steering. But that's normal with all canoes.
Насрать на такую пилу.😂😂😢.

Hello, Audy, nice uploading! ))
nice stand but sadly harmonics totally off due to damage
Thank you for the compliment on the stand. Yes, the damage did change the harmonics. It's perfectly imperfect.

Nice job
Thank you. It was a fun project and even more fun the wear.
Keep up idea for anything
I'm really sure you can build it yourself. I did this 2 weeks ago thanks to the Woodglut plans.
Brandy, thank you for the comment. Yes, I did consider building this. However, while conducting the research of various designs, I found this one available for sale. She's a beautiful work of art and the price was very reasonable. Thanks so much for watching.
So beautiful and peaceful 🙂
Yes I can confirm the stability issue with the high seat / hi center of gravity! First time out with my Pack and not going out again until I lower the seat :-)
I just rebuilt my old steel wheelbarrow a month ago, and now I'm viewing what others have done to see what I might have done. BEST think you did was to oil the bolts when the barrow was new! Rusted bolts that have to be cut away and replaced are a pain. However, I'm painting on axle grease I happen to have on hand rather than oil. That see3ms like it ought to last longer. Using the mower wheels is very creative! However, I'm finding that the main reaswon barrow wheels wont hold air is that the tire no longer makes a good seal with the bead on the steel wheel ----it needs a sealant. I've seen people recommending a variety of different sealants, which suggests that any sealant will probably do the job. I used my trusty axle grease again, and after a month the tire doesn't leak. Very good on replacing the rotted wood. The wood on my thirty year old, much neglected barrow was still mostly good. I replaced one of the wedges, which had rotted out. My major criticism of your rebuild is that you didn't disassemble everything and prime and paint everything, especially the obviously rusted tray. You did a lot of disassembly, but not this essential feature needed to avoid further deterioration. I'm surprised. After disassembling everything, I painted everything with Kilz primer and then with house paint, since again that's what I had on hand at no cash outlay. That's all the wood and all the metal, including the tray. Since seven years have gone by since this video was made, I'm wondering how your barrow is holding up? One thing that should be emphasized with wheelbarrows, I think, is that they are vehicles that need to be inspected, maintained and repaired ----not neglected until they don't work. Inspect and maintain your wheelbarrow and it will provide much longer and more reliable service ----such as by greasing or oiling those bolts before the threads corrode away and the only way to disassemble the barrow to maintain it is to cut the bolts and replace them. I also favor stenciling on the maximum recommend load for your barrow. I'd bet that many barrows are damaged by loads that are too heavy. The max recommended load, stenciled on the tray where it faces the operator, seems like it would be a good reminder.
Thoughtful commentary - thank you so much. Yes, it's been seven years. The wheelbarrow has been stored under my deck ( the deck is 11 feet above ground), standing up on the front edge and wheels. Thus it does not collect standing water and only gets about 1 hour of direct sun per day. It remains serviceable today. It was a fun little repair project. Thank you for watching the video. Your comments may inspire others during similar repairs.
Is that a life jacket/ best? Been seeing similar wear on other videos. I've been using skiers and want to up grade on for paddling. It not comfortable in the kind I've been using.
Thank you for the question. Life jackets are like a pair of boot. Some styles will service you well, others less so. I actually had to watch the video again to see which of the 5 styles of life jacket I was wearing. This one was a gift from the Gods. That is to say, I found it floating on the Ohio River several years back. It had signs of being in the river for more about a week. Thus, it likely floated a hundred or so miles. It fits me well as the strap system is very adjustable. It also covers a minimal area of the chest and back so it's not overly hot to wear.
How much do these sell for please comment back thank you looking for a one man Canoe
Thanks for the question. I purchased mine, never having touched water for $1,000. It came with a canoe storage cover, a camp chair, an inflate life vest, and a paddle. Thus, I paid around $800 for the boat and $200 for the accessories. That said, I'm confident the price is significantly higher now due to inflation, more limited supply and many more people finding paddling during isolation.
@@audyitter9637 I am looking for that type of boat it's the perfect size
i just bought a used Old Town Guide Solo 119 . it's 11'9" long, 32 1/2" wide weighs about 50-55 lbs . i don't think they make this one anymore . that one you have weighing only 33 lbs would be much nicer . BUT . . . i do not regret buying mine ! Looks like the kayak paddle is they way to go . i'll carry both !
I'm so happy to hear you found a boat that's just right for you. Yes to the kayak paddle - or as I refer to it while paddling a canoe = a double blade paddle.
I know this idea will work. I see it's going to be versitial and very useful...a tent and a hammock comfortablity....outstanding man!
Excellent idea....but I see you needed stronger trees and some racheting to give it some more tension....but it's strong and will hold more then just your weight...like your pack and everything you would carry
Historically, the great kilt bottom should sit at the top of your knee (some wore it even higher.) It looks like you're working with far too much material. Great effort.
Soylent G. Who knew. Yes, then likely too much material. That said, a main goal of the project was no sew and no cut. Thus, I employed what I had available. Super glad you took the time to comment.
@@audyitter9637 You bet, the width of the material was anywhere from 54" to 60" depending on your height and about 5 yards long.
Those cord stirrups are not safe! If your canoe ever overturned and your feet got trapped in the stirrups you could drown! Adjustable foot braces that are often used in kayaks are available online for as little as $20 and they work very well. I installed a pair in my Old Town Otter and love them.
Is that saddle lake? It's a pretty morning with the fog. Great find on the unused Pack. You should have tried it in the stock configuration first just for comparison. I think I would have liked it better with just the seat lowered a bit for single blade paddling but I am a traditional canoe guy. I keep trying to get a Pack but they disappear quickly when offered. I'm still happy with my 14' Wenonah Vagabond in Royalex. It's 9 pounds heavier but almost 3 inches more narrow than the Pack and I think it probably tracks better. I tried one of the OT 119 boats and it waddled like a duck!
Could you tell me what seeds you put inside the rattle so that it could make some nice sound?
beautiful
Nice bag
Thank you. I very much enjoy using it as well as the many other subsequent hair on deer hide items I've made: a wide brim hat, a jacket, a sling bag...
Cant you just boil it to loosen the meat and fat off it? Or will it fuck up the fur?
Interesting question of boiling the hide. I don't know the answer to the question. Logic tells me it might degrade the hide and make it unusable.
I have had a pack canoe for 27 years. Love my kayakcanoe! Installed 2nd thwart where seat used to be. I sit in a boat cushion on the floor, lean back against a 2nd boat cushion leaning against 2nd thwart. Double ended kayak paddle for locomotion. It’s like a little sports car on the water!
Beautiful!
Did it work?
Yes. It worked very well. Adjusted the length of the strap at the buckle to compensate for adding the padding. Thank you for asking.
@@audyitter9637 No, thank you for answering, I'm facing the same problem and your vid is the most right to the point that I came about, greetings from Chile my friend, the best for you and your family

Would love to find one of these canoes
They're out there, just hiding under dust in the back of people's garages.
Nice review. Just picked up one off craigslist. Can't beat a canoe for hauling camping equipment.
You're super lucky to find one from what I hear. I sure hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. Happy canoeing.
Knowing there are so many minty RX canoes in garages all over the country, longing to be in the water, keeps me up at night. If anyone has, or knows of a Pack, Hunter, or 15' Camper or anything close in RX from MR, Dagger etc. being held prisoner, ready to escape, it would really help me get some sleep. 😏😉
Josh, best wishes. The new material and designs are cool but seem very pricey to me.
@@audyitter9637 I agree, the smart money is on a used Royalex. There are plenty out there in great shape for great deals especially if you are looking for a 16 or 17. Takes some dedication and/or luck to find the shorties. I hope the t-formex takes off and pads the used market here in the next few years but I don't know, used market may never "recover" Regardless I ignored the market for too long and missed the Royalex window when it was wide open. I can't afford to wait any longer. I've got to get it done now before I get any older. Pack, Hunter, and 15' Camper or equivalents are on my radar, until then I will make due with my MR freedom 16 and my brick they call a guide 147. BTW thanks for the review, I'm going to edit my first post with a wittier one if you don't mind
