Cardinals 1-2 for a reason there defense 😅

J.daniels toughest task this year will be trying to overcome his own bad defense that's alot for a rookie,going into probably 90% of his games knowing his going to after score 27+ points

This will be another shootout, all we can hope is defense holds to FGs and offense keeps doing what they are doing. The Cards dline not 100%, hopefully JD gets time to pick right receiver. Eckeler missing hurts, always worry about new guys (McNichols) fumbling. Also Eckeler running seemed to just need a crack, and he was gone; not sure McNichols that good/quick. I could see McNichols strictly a receiver. Dline needs to hold lanes to block QB view, hands up, keep Murray contained. Its like we are facing short JD.

Question/Thought about the defense: I apologize if this thought has been shared (As hard as it may be to believe, I don't listen to EVERY DMV podcast...lol): Focus 80-90% of your practice drills on forcing turnovers (peanut punches, tip ball drills, jumping routes.....) ....?? Because if we don't have the optimal personnel, then turnovers seems to be the only solution. My $.02.

It’s hard to say, I would want to say defense is more important for them to do well. BUT with a rookie QB we don’t know if he can continue to consistently play really well, obviously it’s too much to expect that right now. We will need our offense to protect our defense by staying on the field, maintaining drives and burning clock.. that’s gotta be the solution for every game until the defense can figure it out.

In my lifetime... regardless of the numbers.... I have never seen a worse defense over the last 16 games. I'm 50. I have never seen defense this bad. What do we have.... 7 turnovers in the last season and a fifth.

I noticed that the Commanders played an exceptional amount of Cover 2 and 2 Man right after Sainristil got smoked early outside on a go route. Do you think Joe Whitt will change the defense he brought to Washington until the commanders come up with a pass rush?

102 in AZ is WAYYYYY better than 90 and humid in DC

I'm betting on the defense having a big day against Arizona. 4 sacks, 2 Ints & a fumble recovery. And let's keep thing in perspective. This defense has faced Tampa Bay w/Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. The Bengals w/Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase & Tee Higgins. A lot of defenses give up lots of points to those offenses. There's a reason they get mentioned in the Super Bowl conversations.

I know it’s hard to think of but we need to let Allen go. He’s either not good anymore or not trying. I think people are scared to piss him off because he’s so media friendly but he is simply not good enough to be our top guy. Daron could be better too but he’s doing better than Allen. Bottom line is for their entire careers we’ve heard how great the line is but they have never really been that great for any period of time. Move on get capital and let Newton take over.

Genuinely surprised by Daniel’s ability in this game to play from the pocket and missing big hits. Still don’t love his arm strength when it comes to fitting balls into tight windows but he did have one of those to Noah Brown and it was a completion. Gotta see how the season plays out of course and even as years come because we’ve seen players fall off after hot starts many times. Cautiously optimistic!

I saw a throw from Kirk where he hit desean where he was 5 yards behind the guy and I said I could do that then I saw the replay from behind when Kirk threw it desean was 2 yards from getting even with cornerback and of course I couldn’t make that throw even though I could of thrown it that far my would be much higher and with less velocity desean would’ve been waiting five minutes for ball to get there… the 5 car did it twice in same game go JD go Skins

I was so surprised no one noticed it, he sets up perfectly for Noah.. but Luke is just moving into that window.. which is kinda bad in a way cause he drags his defender into the window if the throw is worse right? Oh well now he knows Luke will get open on 4th lol.

I also think he was throwing to Noah brown.. he is looking right at Noah.. it was absolutely perfect for him.. but Luke just takes it from him absolutely perfectly. It’s kinda crazy.. wonder what Jayden thought of it.. probably won’t admit it on the record but maybe off the record.

Our QB name is Jayden Daniels. He won a Heisman and has accomplished things on his own. Lamar Jackson plays for the Ravens. He is different than Jayden.. I mean... in terms of DNA, I guess they are 99.98 % identical. But as football players. They are different guys. Also, C.J. Stroud plays for the Texans. He is also good. He doesn't play for us. I feel like you definitely know these things.. it's just when I listen to your show... I get confused about who plays for who.

Craig the answer is look at how other teams double teamed jamar chase and how they frustrated him and took him out his game by doing so...that is what the safeties are for is to help with corners that go up against the elite recievers..that's how Witt could have done it but instead in his brain he expects rookie corners to do it alone..why not focus on next season to get a shut down corner and how about playing Forrest at safety instead of chinn..because if this defense can't stop the run or the pass that means they will depend on jayden to carry this 53 man roster and that shouldn't ever happen

Until the moment of the 2nd pick on draft day I was a DM fan. I was so wrong.

I mean 5 played out of his mind.. talk about superstars being born in prime time.. Joe B was pretty surgical dude raised his level. But to imagine that JD would out play him in game 3?! Every 3rd down.. the dude made plays. Everyone on the offense made plays for him, every rookie, every free agent on offense Made a play to help the team and Jayden.. reducing the burden. I won’t say the Defense was good, BUT against this type of offense on a day Joe B was on fire.. they just needed a stop and to prevent quick drives. They got 2 or 3 stops for FG.. and they even got lucky with a missed kick. That was enough for that game when the offense was firing on all cylinders.. just a couple stops in the game was enough. Burn the clock make them drive the field.. they had some long drives a couple times and when you need points fast? It’s perfect.. obviously we want better but our defense just isn’t that kinda defense YET. This was a pretty classic bend but don’t break game, they bent a lot and didn’t break 2/3 times.. that was the game. His only incompletions were on deep throws.. 2 deep to Terry. 1 was a blitz throw away.. the other was similar to the last play with a dude in his face and he couldn’t see where Terry was and he just missed him. I think JD thought Terry would go to end zone but it came out too flat/high 🤷‍♂️
