Takes a DTE but discards after attack. It’s an easier way of hitting that 310 number and taking a double prize

The judge has to sign a physical slip and get a signature from both players in the case of a double loss so I guess that’s why there’s pens

Glad to see you cover TPC events! From Fabien's sharing, TPC events in Japan are run quite well. It's not always the the same in the other non-Japan TPC territories. Players are less likely to scoop when losing & might even intentionally play to a double loss, judges sometimes need to call a 2nd or 3rd judge to resolve judge calls and sometimes we only know when events are held less than 2 weeks before they happen. Would be cool to see you cover other lesser-known regions like TPC outside Japan, especially with our difficulty in getting elected to get points /implications of promo cards for Great Balls, Ultra Balls, Premier Ball & Master Ball events!

If we’re gonna start playing best of one, 30min, with no ties, we need chess clocks. There will definitely be people, who know that they can’t win, slow play to force a double game loss. Even if the game is decided on prizes, after 30min, it’s a lot harder for people to manipulate time with a best of 3, 50min.

This is probably one of the newest comments for an 9 month episode. I am like Dan that I listen mostly instead of watching you tube videos, because I am at work. That being said I am probably one of the oldest Pokemon player at 54! This is primarily because my son starting playing competitively just under a year ago. So one day maybe you will see the first father and son win the same regional together. Good content as always!

people are comparing this to the pandemic and that's such a terrible take. This is real genuine hype of people pouring in all there money into these new sets coming out into Pokemon. This isn't fake lol. This will probably be the new base going forward so that only means Pokemon will have to print even more or this will continue to happen with things being sold out months in advanced lol.

I’m sure it’s a combination of reasons so suffice to say your interviews are the ones I listen to most consistently, and are the ones I am most likely to listen to in their entirety. Side note: I don’t mind the lack of rapid strike questions. I sometimes skip that section to get to the meat of the podcast.

I feel like if Pokémon had a MAPP, it would help a lot of this and stop the distros from being as evil as they are.

Regarding increase of LGS leagues and casual play currently I don't see any efforts from Play Pokemon to do that. Here in EU we still have countries (baltic ones Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia examples) which are not on Play Pokemon list and our LGS can't initiate Leagues despite that they have all other TCG official support except Pokemon. Currently all processes and ways to get into the list of supported countries seams hopeless.

I liked the custom "modified theme" format which was constructed but using only cards that were in any theme deck lists. There were a few limitless tournaments in the pandemic era of that format, and it was really cool and fairly high power (AOR vileplume for example was in a theme deck)

My honest opinion is; if they'd printed Dusknoir to read: "If you use this ability, place Dusknoir and all attached cards into the lost zone" It would be less oppressive than it is currently, the issue is that you get control decks draw through and use night stretcher to put it back into their hand and use the same combo the next turn, and all they need is a duskull on their bench already. Not to mention the ability to manipulate prize trades without even needing to end their turn. It's very rough. Cards like Arven and Irida make it incredibly consistent by turns 2 or 3, because of the extremely strong draw engines in the standard format. Last but not least, if you're playing a rogue deck, you can't even have fun against it. Manaphy has already been a pretty highly played card to protect your weak single prize benches from Greninja, but that doesn't even do anything against Dusknoir. It only really feels like it has the effect of increasing the gap between already S tier decks and everything else, which you would think, should be the opposite of the goal.

46:10 I'll never understand people complaining about "having" to go to locals. It's the people that actually don't like playing the game that are making it worse imo. If you don't enjoy playing the game and can't manage to win a cup, maybe just don't play. Not saying there's anything wrong with not being able to win a local but if your gonna complain about having to play and think your good enough to go to worlds maybe just play for fun

So ive been playing a ton of Ceruledge in limitless tourneys. It has felt really good and is my new fav deck fo sho...can confirm the pikachu mu sucks but cologne helps. If you are going 2nd briar + ninja & palkia can help you swing back.

Agree with Steven about the grass weakness on hydra. Its definitely underrated though i feel.

I wanted to start out by saying I like these discussions. Now if anyone who isn't 10 or 12 years old knows that Pokemon is in a "diverse deck" rut right now so all these discussions are pretty pointless. The last 5 tournaments won including Latin America have all been the same regi or Terapagos Or Dragapult or Bolt deck. This Sac Town tournament is not gonna be any different. It's not the players fault, it's Pokemon's fault for having the game in this state like they did when MEW VMAX was out and about.
