Vempati Ravi shanker is only male dancer i had seen who had justified shiva character with his highstandardised technical brilliance with style we know him as a multifaceted talented teacher as a classical singer, composer, a choreographer, Nattuvanar, with high standards and as a first class soloist for kuchipudi dance recitals. Moreover as a teacher perfectionist in puredancing, solos, dance dramas, duets were attained in his times 1990 to 2010.highly stylistic conventional acting with techical brilliance groomed in his times. As per my observation no one reached to his standars till now. Prior to him Manjulabharghavi used to enacted as a shiva, srinivasa, krishna who had justified with her tall majestic personality, with technical standards every one used to appreciate Manju because of her tall sculptureseque poses with catcy body movements feminine natural grace. She and Ravi shanker appreciated one and all internationally. Great dancing stars of thy shiv both justified with utmost laya precision as a male and male impersonater as manjula bharghavi. Ravi shanker was a great enacter of characters like Rama, ukmee, shiva with utmost perfection of rythm. His Ardhanareeswar is enough to confer padmasri award to him. I hope posthumously this indian blind government would recognise him as a great star in the kuchipudi dancing world. Even sangeeth Natak Academy had not recognized him. It had given to a such amasters who had neither talented in the movement nor choreography. We r sorry talk about its true. In an artiste one has to see hidden talents not personal character. Art is for art sake. Such a divine pleasure given by Vempati Ravi shanker by carrying his body language towards brilliant training to spectators. His sudden demise is a unrecovervable loss to the dancing world especially for kuchipudi Art academy chennai too. Heads of to him as a technical brilliant dancer prestige to indian kuchipudi dancing style of dancing.
