MjM is the best boat. I wish I had gotten into boat building. I'd be down there trying to get a job! I see that the move to N. Carolina is doing well. Boston (Massachusetts) just not very business friendly.

Could this work on a catamaran?

The parts look great it is neat to learn about the development process. Do you know how the weights compare to the epoxy wet-preg MJMs? Getting rid of the gelcoat and skincoat on the hulls must help - and the cosmetics on that blue hull look perfect.

What happens if / when it overheats (the water intake gets clogged etc)? Redundant systems to shut it down before it blows? Awesome if rocking bothers you. I like a little rocking to sleep better because my bones ache (sleeping beam to beam when rocking hard vs bow to stern when rocking gently :-) This is great for any powerboat as they seem to rock very hard, pounding a lot. The large keel on a sailboat softens the rock a lot.

Cool hardware, though you should not be using those those split lock washers for mounting @2:33 as they at most are useless and do nothing, and at worst can make joint loosen faster once you've gotten to the point of loosening. www.boltscience.com/pages/helicalspringwashers.htm has a good explanation. You're already applying a thread-locking adhesive and torquing the fasteners so it doesn't make much sense.

I hope the factory engineers see this video... First, did you see how hard it is to get the raw water strainer out and back in? That's a design flaw. The cooling water level is not visible or easily accessible due to the deck overhang, another design flaw. I can't imagine what it would take to get to the impellers to check / replace them. This video was the two IPS version, what about the three IPS version? Way to cramped to do anything significant.
