This is nonsense as it implies that the energy to charge the battery is freely available without robbing energy from the engine...this is not so. Charging any battery takes energy...the same amount as its capacity plus a bit more...there is no free lunch ! For example, you cannot drive from Dublin to Cork while charging your battery without giving up close to 50% of the engine output to charge the battery...so your performance will be dismal for one thing and the battery will not be charged enough to get you home again on electric power...the laws of Physics will not be denied...this is pure 'Gaslighting' by Toyota! The all Electric Vehicle, however, does Not strive to contravene the laws of Physics and is a better option...apart from the range issues!
Where is it implied that the electricity is free? No-one has managed to explain that yet. The famous banned Lexus ad campaign in Norway did claim that, and rightfully got banned. People's ignorance about technology isn't the manufacturer's or marketer's fault. Only a complete idiot would think that a car with a fuel tank, fuel gauge, and fuel warning light doesn't need to be refueled.
Whats the mpg
"It really is self-charging". How they can say this with a straight face is beyond me.
So an overly complex car that still uses petrol. Revolutionary. I'll stick with my imiEV, because it is as easy as plugging in a phone. I don't have to drive away from my home to stop into a petrol station, smell the disgusting fumes or fork over $$$ for expensive and dangerous combustible liquid. I have access to FREE electricity for my car as does everyone who cares to plug in their electric car at our local DC fast charger in Wollongong Australia. FREE. Yep free. And fully solar, to boot. Can you drive your "self-charging" hybrid for free? Nope. Do you have to change oil and air filters, replace timing belts, check for toxic levels of emissions and maintain a complicated hot engine that makes a hell of a lot of noise pollution? Of course you do. The last thing I did to my car was fill up the washer fluid and change the front tyres. "Self-charging hybrids". Longhand for SCAM.
Hahaha Ypu Look Like 5yrs old got tantrums it looks you don’t have the capacity to get one hybrid car jude hahahahaaaa
Groundbreaking tech guys... my 10 year old petrol Golf is also self charging and has as much emission as yours.
So what are you saying Toyota is going to build a Chevrolet VOLT??
Toyota's too late Nissan's E-Power is the One True King Of Self Charging Hybrid. E-Power is Nissan's Volt without a "Plug" and its Self Charges with "Petrol". That's right, just add "Petrol" and the "Petrol" Charges the Battery.
@@kirivanyam6035 So what you are saying is that Nissan copied the VOLT but left the plug off? Which means you always have to use gasoline. Your statement is exactly why Cheverlot quit making the VOLT. People just did not understand this state of the art system. It is light years ahead of anything on the market. And GM had no idea of how to explain it to the public. You see the VOLT is 100% electric if you drive it under 60miles a day, then and only then will the gas generator startup and make electricity. My grandson bought a 2015 VOLT that had 38,000 miles on it. And 34,000 of the miles were driven on ALL electric only. NO other car can do this.
@@racerd3801 I own a 2013 Volt. 26K Miles on Gas and 54K Electric. I think the E-Power are currently sold in Japan. Nissan is saying that the E-Power is an Electric car. SMH...There's No Such Thing As A Self Charging Hybrid
@@kirivanyam6035 Exactly, They change regenerative breaking into self charging, and expect people to fall for the lie. I also own a 2013 VOLT, by far the best car I have ever owned. I have let people drive mine and 5 of them went out and bought VOLTs also.
@@racerd3801 I'm jumping on a 2019 after their leases are over with the 7kW onboard charger.
So its a hybrid without the ability to charge externally. What an incredible invention.
