I think the events of this chapter set the events for the sequel manga. For both Kiyo and Zatch(yes I know it's Gash) they realized that they were still connected by their bond even after the war. This would drive both of them to reunite by following the paths they chose.

It was already established that great damage is applied on Brago's body the more power is put into his ultimate spell. Sherry had utilized as much of Shin Baberuga Gurabidon that was safe, but I think if she and Brago brought out enough force to destroy Baou Zakeruga, Brago would have died. The simple version: the safe level of power of Shin Baberuga Gurabidon isn't enough to crush Baou Zakeruga. They really did lose.

But hey, Kiyomaro yells at Gash a lot.

Baou was OP even at this point. It was already able to go up against a Shin lvl spell. Clear's spell to boot.

I like how they treat how much of a threat and dangerous power warping can be. Despite on its own having no combat potential if the user or ally is able to attack and retreat when they want, it’s a huge threat
