Boy if you put those two together you'd have the ultimate honky-tonker. Dale Watson could order a meal at Wendy's and that voice would turn it into a number one chart-topper and Jim could put a score to a snuff film and make it enjoyable. Very talented men - but for some reason I'm not satisfied and want to combine them into a Frankenstein. Ha ha - oh well.
Everytime I drive 35 South out of Waco, I always make sure to scope out Papa Joe's. I was running with another driver and told 'em, "that's where Billy Joe shot that that dude right between the 'mother' and the 'f***er'"

I just read about this confrontation with Billy Joe Shaver on Wikipedia and had to come here and listen to this song. The guy's a legend! Also, while you're here on UA-cam, you got to look up Georgia on a fast train by shaver. It smokes.
