Where are people getting all these nice n scale british steam locos? I've never seen em and would really love to switch to n scale for space reasons but never could find British locos online. I cant go to a store and expect to see them bc I live in the U.S.

It's not that their not restored. It's that the boilers have to be replaced roughly once a decade or so to make sure they are safe. So there is ALWAYS at least one engine in various states of being in bits. Especially as the Bluebell railway also repairs engines from other lines that don't have the facilities needed for more heavy duty mainanance.
