I'm turning this channel into a classic Doom channel. A majority of the uploads will probably be no commentary UV Max runs of WADs for now. Need to figure out what other Doom content I want to upload here because I don't want it to just be playthroughs. Enjoy the gameplay for now I suppose!
Doom 2: Scythe 2 - Map 6: Temple Entryway (UV Max)
Scythe 2 is a 32-map mega WAD sequel to Erik Alm’s 2003 mega WAD Scythe. The original featured snappy, short, and fast-paced maps split into episodes based on difficulty. It ended up being an extremely influential WAD and ended up becoming one of the few PWADs eligible for Compet-n speedrunning. Endless amounts of mappers that followed Scythe would try and emulate/build on Scythe’s design philosophies.
Scythe 2 not only keeps these philosophies intact (for the most part) but expands upon them. The levels in Scythe 2 are much larger, more complex, much more ferocious, and put more emphasis on aesthetics. Overall, Scythe 2 is an upgrade in every way possible from the original. Not only is the level design of Scythe 2 extremely influential, it’s level ordering/structure in the context of the entire mega WAD has also become a popular design choice. This WAD is split into 6 aesthetically distinct episodes with each one containing a death exit. Along your bloody journey through Scythe 2 you’ll encounter gothic, Egyptian, industrial, wasteland, Earth jungle, and hell maps.
Along with all of this, Alm decided to mostly ditch the stock MIDIs this time around, and collected a mixtape of MIDIs from all kinds of places. MIDI renditions of real songs, game MIDIs, you name it.

I decided to stir up some true chaos here and do a little SR50 to the red key at the start so I can open up the exit early on. Sprinting through the rest of the map to get the SSG and wiping everything out after that feels great.
Nighttime Egypt is a particularly interesting and mysterious theme that often makes me wonder about Ancient Egypt. It’s one of those settings to me that I would love to experience first hand at some point. What really helps with this is the music which is a little creepy and plays very well with the moody lighting.

Eh, cool midi, but the original pick fits the atmosphere in this level way better. Anyway, I've always liked the overt excess of seclusion. It's pretty much the first instance of Alien Vendetta, well.... being Alien Vendetta.
Yeah, that's fair. Tbh, i haven't heard the og midi in a long time, so I kind of forgot it. I'm listening to it now, and I see why you like it more. Now I'm not so sure whether I prefer it or the new midi. I just love the synths and upbeat vibe of this one so much.

That's something, you're playing the two most influential megawads ever at the same time. Some of the later levels will certainly be interesting to tackle...
Yeah, I figured Scythe 2 would be a good accompaniment to AV. But yeah, no kidding, lol. Luckily, I have quite a bit of experience with these WADs. So my plan is to get the first 20 maps of both done ASAP so I can have plenty of time to get satisfying runs of the later maps.

I'm not sure. If you're talking about the new doom port, then perhaps you could. You'd have to find it amongst all the other WADs in the browsing section if I remember correctly.
@ I am talking about the new Doom port. I know we can’t get the actual Brutal Doom on it because of how constantly updated it is and probably isn’t possible to ever port it to console. If it it was possible you wouldn’t know since there is so many titles Brutal Doom.
