12/2024…..
And I have been inspired to do some comic related videos here…. Mostly going live… but now I am experimenting with up loading recorded videos as well
6 25 19 update: it's been a while.. life, work and all that stuff has left me with less energy and time than I would like. I hope to make more videos in the near future.
thanks to everyone who continues to check out the older videos..

should the Quarry books be read in order ? I have a copy of The Last Quarry , not sure if I should read that first or last
It has been a bit since I have read any of them…. I don’t think the order matters that much… the books my reference event’s from other books but they read fine on their own…. The Last Quarry has been followed by a number of additional entries in the series so it was not intended to be read last
Dude where have you been? Looking through my subs and was remembering how much I enjoyed your videos especially being another Michigander. Hope all is well.
thanks..... I am doing stuff on TickTok mostly these days... my handle over there is irenzero9 ..... UA-cam wasn't handy with my set up so I stopped making videos here.... maybe I will get back to it at some point... we will see...
Like the books by Max Allan Collins as well as the ones you recommended
Got into westerns at the beginning of 2020 and love them. Like Elmer Kelton the most. Zane Grey, AB Guthrie are alright too.
Just getting into Westerns now. Always pick them up.
Very impressive friend!!
My favorites are Bill Crider...Bill Pronzini and Ed Gorman...super great haul
Great video Eric! Love the Sunglasses After Dark first edition. What a great book. Looking forward for more videos. Happy Halloween!
This video is 5 stars...great shelves ..Karl Edward Wagner books are my favorites of the video
📙💯
Hey Eric.i have recently started reading more.i would love to hear your take on some Stephen King books if you're into him.unless you have done one in the past and I missed it.ok now I'll finish the rest of the video
I do like Stephen King... I haven't read his newer stuff, but I have some of that I want to get to.. as for recommendations... Start with some of his short stories, from the 70s or 80s.. Night Shift or Skeleton Crew are perfect entry points for the short stories.. for the novels, Salem's Lot, The Shining, or Firestarter are good places to start. From there I would recommend the original (shorter) edition of the Stand... it's likely you can find these in used book shops, thrift stores or at library sales..
Thanks Eric!!
Just finished Block's, "The Girl With the Deep Blue Eyes." My first Hard Case Crime novel.
Now, I've reached back to "Sinner Man."
These guys are still active. Joe Blow (the singer) now fronts a new band called Dog Company. I went to numerous shows in Deep Ellum in Dallas to see Riot Squad/Staggers back in the day, and it really is a shame that they didn't break bigger, because these were down to earth guys that really deserved it.
I do know about Dog Company. I have one of their albums.. and really need to check out the rest of them.
Thank you for doing the tag! Good call on Re-Animator! Awesome to see some Kathe Koja on your shelf :)
you are welcome.. I do have some Koja that I hope to get to sooner than later.. I saw you mentioned you are in the Pittsburg area, do you and your husband know about Drive In Monster Rama at the Riverside in Vandergrift ? I have been going to friends for the last several years.
@@I-Ren-Zero I hope you enjoy her work! So far I've read The Cipher and Bad Brains and they were both 5 stars for me. I've heard of those drive in events but haven't had chance to go yet! I'll see if I can make it to the next one, it seems like a lot of fun :)
cool stuff
Quite nice library!
Awesome Eric,....
Welcome back, Eric!
Glad to see you back with another video Eric!
I had never heard of Valancourt, but your video really interested me. I checked out the website and what a cool publisher. I thought the prices were a little high for a paperback, but I really love those covers. Let me know if the stories are worth it and I might pick some of these up. I have been asking everyone for book recommendations. I ditched my Kindle. I prefer an physical book. Good to see a new video from you!
it is gonna be a while before I get to them.. but I will let you know. I can highly recommend Paperbacks from Hell.. which this line is based on. yeah they are a little pricy, however Valancourt is a small publisher so I am ok with supporting them.
I’ve read a good number of HCC books. Max Allen Collins is probably my favourite writer consistently, though I’m looking forward to reading David Goodis.
I have gotten behind on my HCC reading and there are a number of Max Allen Collins that I have yet to get to.. but I am looking forward to getting to them.
Here and subscribed just because I saw you put Hedwig And The Angry Inch in the comments of movie fights for what movie needs a prequel. YES!
Where the videos at?
Hipsters are bald now ?
TurboJugend!!! TurboNegro!!! Apocalypse Dudes!!! Ass Cobra!!! Prince Of The Rodeo!!! Sailor Man!!! Denim Demon!!!
Cramps I thought they were the Tubes under a new name. U2MUCH, Aeroshit, white van man halen, All wrapping no content Kiss. Bruce Jewstein, and the worst of the lot Paul McCartney. 90% OF aMERICAN SO CALLED ROCK IS REALLY ELEVATOR MUSAK.
Love those Black Lizard Books. I also read Hard Case Crime and Longarms.
Have you ever gone to the Southgate Value World on Dix? I find lots of good books there, mystery, thrillers, horror, true adventure and survival genres.
I have been there once or twice.. I don't tend to get over to Southgate when I hit Taylor..
GREAT STUFF
"Earth Abides" just got added to my want list. I loved "The Stand".
\m/ \m/
catching up on your videos today.
Hahaha! That Hamster of the Baskervilles sounds right in my wheelhouse! I've read some Robert Parker years ago. I forgot all about those Mack Bolan books. Read some of those in the past. On the Beach is one of my favorite books. "This is the way the world ends...not with a bang but a whimper". Great pick up! Your best haul, yet!
What platform is the Men's Adventure group on?
it is on facebook... the full name is .. Men's Adventure Paperbacks of the 70s & 80s ..
Shit, I quit Facebook about a year ago for a number of reasons, including to give me more time to READ and work on my writing.
Great haul! I still have the first Dortmunder book on my TBR list. I've been reading old noir/Gold Medal crime novels but have been wanting to get into the old Men's Adventure genre.
I haven't really listened to neko case since blacklisted. I loved that album but never really heard anything after that.
Thanks for the shoutout! I'll check out that new Alice bag for sure.
You got some great stuff man!!!!
Good book info..keep 'm comin!
Hey Eric! I just finished Chant by David Cross and loved it. Ordered the second and third one upon finishing. It was a great read with a lot of action, intrigue, and romance. I'm glad you picked that one up. Great haul on everything else. I haven't started the Hap and Leonard series so I think I'm heading there next.
very cool.. I will add that one to my TBR pile.. Hap and Leonard is either going to work for you or not... but enjoy. ;)

A very ecclectic group of books.
Well dang, just when they were at Bad Chili. I would have liked to have seen that done. I am extremely disappointed. I enjoyed the show.
Love Hap and Leonard. I don’t think its been cancelled.
Joe R Lansdale announces on this Facebook Page that Hap and Leonard was canceled this with in the last several days.. which is my source for that..
Very cool pickups Eric! I love those 70's pulp noir covers. Larry Niven & Richard Matheson are a must. Owl Goingback is a new one on me. Sounds cool. Thanks for sharing your awesome finds. Take care.
Thanks Andy..
Nice pickups. Hot Wire looks cool. Agree about Lansdale, fantastic writer.
Nice stuff Eric. I’m heading to the Livonia and West Bloomfield library sales tomorrow. Hopefully some good stuff there!
That mix tape book is awesome! This was fantastic, Eric. I agree with you about people being more adventurous. That’s why I love your channel (and Paperback Mania’s). There’s always so many cool books and cool music to check out.
I'll have to go see Mummula! I love BOC's debut! Good response to Billy's contest.
Nice Richard Laymon find...god rest his soul..he was largely not published in the USA for much of his writing career..so his books are always worth picking up...and well worth reading for that matter
I know Bogosian and Spillane. Love several of the covers. It's a dying art. Keep these coming!
I’ve actually never heard of any of these books but you can’t beat a good deal! Hillbilly Women sounds like a good read. Although they are not from the Appalachia, I have hillbilly family in Kentucky that sure do have stories of their own. 😊
