ATSF 5006 5009
This video shows two extremely well detailed ATSF 5001 class 2-10-4 models in O Scale. No one has ever imported the ATSF 5001 class in O Scale, so these were converted from USH 5011 class models. Every detail on the prototype is on the models. After examining the engines up close we watch them double headed on a long freight.

Ultra Detailed O Scale C&O Greenbrier
Переглядів 8 тис.9 років тому
This is probably the most detailed model of a C&O 4-8-4 ever created in any scale. This is O Scale. Extensive re-detailing of a PSC model was undertaken, and it is equipped with QSI sound. It is shown running on my layout.
Just amazing the amount of work. Looks incredible!!😊
Absolutely amazing models you have created Gary!😊
I ove the freight set pulled by the 2-10-4. What a sight.
Finished reading the essays on OSK. Thank you for taking the time to write those, a wealth of knowledge and resource. Absolutely incredible models and the layout is just as beautiful.
Great video. I have always loved PSC equipment for their detail, but have never seen an engine actually being used...looks like a great runner!
Absolutely AMAZING!!
omg nice!
Simply fantastic.my Lionel PRR 2-10-4 is beautiful, but this takes it to another level.pure artistry.
As Lucius Beebe might put it, "This is bigtime railroading." Terrific job. Thanks for posting this marvel.
Just wondering, why don’t you make a layout tour?
I absolutely love your work Mr. Schrader, I most especially love the model of 4341 you have, an SP MT-4 4-8-2 I believe. One of my favorite classes of locomotives, I'm curious as to who it's made by so I can pick one up for myself, I doubt you'd sell yours, but if you'd consider it, what would be your price?
4341 is actually an Mt-3. While PSC did bring in Mt-3's, they were only "as built". I rebuilt one of them into a modern Mt-3, so the answer is that you can't buy one like that. Sorry. Sunset 3rd rail also brought in SP Mt's but I don't know if they did any Mt-3's like that one.
@@garyschrader7558 darn. Well it's certainly a beautiful model, all of your locomotives are in fact. You truly are a miracle worker when it comes to modifying these things.
This is an award winning model right here. Enter this in a competition for the NMRA if it hasn't been already!

Beautiful all the way round. Was counting cars...nice train length especially for O scale. Wow! Helper was a nice touch. Gorgeous scenery too. I love the sound of those O scale car wheels hitting the rail joints.
Wonderful work!!
So what manufacturer made this steam locomotive model from O scale?
It looks like a us hobbies locomotive. Probably built by KTM Scale models.
@@westernpacificrr interesting
As noted in the video, I started with a pair of USH ATSF 2-10-4's, but those are models of the 5011 class. I totally rebuilt them into the 5001 class, which has never been imported at all.
@@garyschrader7558 did you mean MTH there?
@@alternative890 No. Info is correct.
spokes not axles
To say that this is beautiful is an understatement, it is simply gorgeous and a masterpiece of O scale modeling.
Beyond craftsmanship and into the realm of fine art. Thank you for sharing this.
This is truly astonishing. Your technical expertise and attention to detail is commendable. In addition, the concise and clear narration makes this a most enjoyable film. Thank you for sharing your time and effort in putting this together.
Absolutely unbelievably gorgeous. To me there is absolutely nothing in model railroading that compares to 2 rail O scale. It seems to be very hard to find. I've got a huge collection of HO, N and Z scale locomotives, rolling stock, track, structures,. Basically any and everything you can imagine in those 3 scales. 99 percent of it is all still new in the box. Everything is top of the line brands. Most everything is in CSX, and the rail lines it consumed. Now that I'm getting older, my eyes aren't so good anymore. So I'm going to make a change to 2 rail O scale. Could you please tell me some good places I can find 2 rail O scale items? I'm having a very difficult time finding anything other than 3 rail. Thanks in advance. GAH II
Two magazines can get you started on finding 2-rail O Scale trains. O Scale Trains magazine is a typical slick magazine you subscribe to. O Scale Resource is an on line free magazine. You can find either by using Google.
Wow. Nothing short of impressive. Great job.
Gary, how can I get a copy of your DVD?
Sorry, Benjamin. I don't have a DVD of that engine. I just put it up on UA-cam at a couple of people's request. Thks. Gary
Gary, I was hoping to get a copy of your DVD(s) covering your layout, and other work. I’m very interested in getting into 2-rail, and customizing/detailing. Cheers, Ben
That looks great but what about the visible phillips head in middle of drive gear?
Magnificent! I so respect your adherence to maintaining the models exactly like the respective big ones.
So marvelous
Truly spectacular modeling, no details were left behind.
Gary, that Greenbrier has to be one of the nicest scale models I have ever seen. Your attention to detail is just amazing. I have the Sunset/3rd Rail C&O J3A Greenbrier 614 in 2 rail. I can just imagine how nice it would look after yo performed your magic. Happy New Year to you.
A very nice model I like c&o steam locomotive.I first came across the c&o in a book called yonder comes the train.Which covered the whole of usa.I did not consider the c&o to be southeastern. The other railroad I like is the seaboard airline railroad.Which goes through my home town of monroe n.c.
Gary, you sir are a living legend! Love the videos please keep them coming.
Great work Gary.
