I was advised by the saw mill I got my posts from to put pea gravel at the bottom of the hole to allow drainage and sit the post on that. You would appear to be doing the exact opposite.
Hi David .. I tend to put a layer of dried concrete down.. post in and another layer of concrete .. because I want the base to be solid .. not having wet stones to sit on and the wood drawing in the moisture.. thanks for commenting

Thank you for the video, good decision to take on someone younger to do the heavy lifting so to speak. I know how you feel mate you reach a certain age in your life and the body tells you cannot do this as well as I use to so at least you have taken it on board and do things differently.
