Could one also use a blood knot to join the sections?
You're dealing with a lot of stands of material at each end, I think it would be very difficult to do a blood knot on one of these.
🤣😅😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 Dry fly material! 🤣😂🤣😂😅🤣😂😂
Tell me you have no idea what you’re talking about without actually telling me you have no idea what you’re talking about.
@@northernkentuckyflyfishers1199 I can tie that pattern without making it look like dog shit. Unlike you. That, and nobody uses that material for dries. Nobody that knows their a$$ from a hole in the ground. Which obviously you do not.
@@northernkentuckyflyfishers1199 🤣😂 Poor inbred .
Nice job
I live in ft Mitchell ky my wife and I where thinking about joining, just co.e across your channel, tks for the info.
Thank 🎉 You for the pattern !!!!! Going to twist some up for next Spring ! Merry Christmas 🎄 ✨🎣💫
Very good theory, but the transition from theory to practise is not well explained. Also the video doesn’t show how you are using the coffee cups. How many strands are you using for the butt section - 1x16ft or 2x8ft lengths ? I’m guessing, 2x8ft lengths each folded in half to create 4x4ft strands with 2 loops in the middle. I’ve seen other similar videos on making furled leaders but what’s good about yours (except from the above) is that the strands that are twisted are (I think) all 4ft in length. In other videos one has to first twist 2x15ft of line and then twist the twisted lengths, which are often 6ft long. Lots of scope for tangling the strands when they are so long.
all good questions, i think w/regards to the coffee cup question he is putting some of the legs of line through the handle of the coffee cups to keep separated. Capish?
When you attach tippet do use use another double surgeons knot? or do you use a perfection loop to attach the tippet?
Good fly tying Audio is annoying as a worm dunker during a hatch Keep up the good work
Thanks for the tips
Great carp, buffalo and panfish fly. Not to mention whitebass and even catfish too.
Cant hear you
I tie something similar but I separate the strands of spindrift and use only one strand but you have to be careful with it as it’s weakened . But it makes a thinner looking fly and I my opinion it works better for me and also allows the hackle to be wound on easily..👍 but yours is great 👍
Yes thanks for the tie, I fish flies that catch fish.👍
were do I get them? I tried Amazon but all I got was some small squirmy thing that was no good .To small .Do you have the link to them?
The Pink one is the best one for trout.
That’s a great fly mic when I very first started Fly Tying I came to one of your classes and learn to tie that fly and I’ve caught many many fish on that slow
Awesome videos. Thanks so much for posting.Could you tell me the hook info.Thankyou.
I don't recall the exact hook that I used, but any #12 curved shank hook will work.
This in hot pink would be a killer for steelheads...
That makes a really nice looking minnow. Since it seems like you want the colors of the thread to show through, is there a reason why you didn’t completely cover the wire wraps with thread? Note: Since there is already a fly named Soft Hackle Streamer, why not name this the Mallard Flank Streamer?
Great presentation!
I have used red with good resaults. I also use these as "tails" on really small streamers.
Hey guys! Just found your channel. I live in Western Kentucky.Look forward to more videos.
Why not tie the flies that are on the NKFF website? Not everybody knows how to tie them.
Which flies are you asking about?
Nice Job Super Randy.
nice tie Mike, as you know this is one of my favorite flies!
Nice Job Super Randy
Great bug. Thanks Randy
Nice Job Randy! good Tie and instruction and yes the wire should be Barbed Wire
Thanks 👍
