I remember this song from when I was staying at the Salvation Army in Pensacola. I remember worshipping God with this song with my friends John, Bill and Andy just to name a few. I'd go the revival meetings and I'd come "home" and worship Jesus some.more. Beautiful worship for the King indeed.
I remember the Pensacola revival. My Bible college from Dallas visited the one in the town. A preacher laid hands on me and I felt an amazing presence of God. Not from the preacher man, but from Gods spirit and anointing- it was incredible.
TRUE WORSHIP, WHICH IS HARD TO FIND TODAY. A SHAME REALLY HOW THE SINGERS HAVE PROSTITUTED THEMSLEVES FOR DOVE AWARDS, MONEY, AND FAME! GOD BLESS YOU RITA!
We don't have any fear of God. He is not like us. We can't judge, because we are not righteous. Only the Almighty is. That is why we don't understand, and we think that at some point God's action might be "unfair". Who do we think we are? I just want to say that the LORD is so much more than our limited minds can think of. He cannot live with sinful people, that's why Jesus took ALL the world's sin and won against it. But if we don't believe that he did, if we don't care, God can't live with us.
zytigon-do yourself a favor and find out the truth about the scriptures. The evidence for their Source is way beyond what you understand. Read a book or two by Josh Mcdowel-'evidence that demands a verdict. The Almighty has made Himself very clear-He doesn't want any to perish but many reject His offer of redemption and thus endure the consequences of their choices. Also read Romans 1 & 2[and the whole book of Romans] and you'll know...are many other excellent apologetics books.
I used to think that this song was written by jason upton. Then I learned about Rita Springer's version and that Rita Springer is one of Jason Upton's influences in music. But now, what a surprise, it's somebody else's composition - Michael Larson! :D Definitely not jesus culture. This song was up and about way before Jesus Culture sang it. ;)
Hi Annie777, Have you considered this possibility :The Bible texts are a collection of many conflicting ideas about what a God might be like. Many people wrote what they thought Jesus, Peter, Paul or Isaiah etc might have said. Those names were file headings for ideas , people added to them over time. I think a good God would not let humanity suffer after death. If that was ever a possibility then God would have stopped that. Maybe that was the Bible authors point ?
Hi Annie777, A caring God would love us and will take us all to heaven if he exists. I'll see you in heaven if there is one. A super Jesus would save everyone, not just a minority, otherwise he would be condemned by the words, " Do not condemn that you be not condemned " luke 6v37. See the contradiction between The Great Commission Matt 28v19 and Acts 10. Which parts of the story are fiction ? Peter's vision or Jesus words ? Psuedography.
John 3:18 ...but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. FYI: please read 20/20...20 verses before and 20 verses after to get the whole picture...
So who is the original composer AND singer? This is one of the songs that's so confusing with so many versions. I also thought Jason Upton wrote and performed it, but I can't seem to find reference to this anywhere online. Its a wonderful song, beautiful and inspirational.
see John 3v17. If God sent Jesus not to condemn the world but to save everyone then surely he would succeed ! 1 Tim 4v10 says that God is the saviour of all men, and especially those who believe. Would a god damn people for trusting that a good God would save everyone? Could Jesus forgive those who had committed the worse social crimes and yet not forgive those who think the Bible stories sound like fairytales & fiction?Try Robert M. "God" is a word that points to the incomprehensible
