China Grass Halwa Recipe No.: 196
This easy dessert is prepared during ramadan. China grass cools our body during fasting. The measurements given in this recipe yields 16 squares.
Ingredients: ( 1 cup = 250ml )
China Grass - 5 g
Milk - ½ ltr
Cardamom - 1, crushed
Sugar - ½ cup
Almond, chopped - 2
Pistachio, chopped - 2
Cashew nuts, chopped - 2
Method:
1. Soak china grass in 1 cup of hot water for 20 minutes. In a pan, add milk and boil it.
2. Add crushed cardamom, sugar and mix well till sugar melts. Switch off gas and keep aside.
3. In an another pan, add china grass along with soaked water and mix well continuously till it melts. It takes 10 minutes.
4. After it melts, add this to milk and mix well. Allow it to boil for 5 minutes.
5. Pour this to the tray and allow it to set for 30 minutes. Sprinkle almond, cashew nuts, pistachios on it.
6. Allow it to set completely. Cut it into squares and serve chilled.
