Swing too many people lines up
Thanks for sharing. I remember the barrel bridge from my youth.
this ride was so much better than the speelunker ride
👍🏻
For those of Wondering analogkid281 passed away on Nov 8th which is why there isn't anything new.
Hello I won a eBay auction with that same control panel but I am so new to this not sure what I’m doing wrong in launchbox and coinops, games like street fighter and MK buttons don’t recognize but do in othe games just fine. Wish I could find more info help on this panel and how to configure it as a newbie. Any one have this panel and can help?

😹😹😹, my mind is blown!
Not what I was expecting but I lol'd
I hope Soulja boy and tallarico make a song together
I've heard that in Six Flags Over Texas that the ride was flooded and is now closed down but they are fixing it back up to the old Speelunker's Cave ride coming next year. I've read they are going to start coming back with some of their older rides from back in the day. I can't wait to see it. Gonna bring back some good old memories!
That is great to hear! I am looking forward to it
the 2nd and 3rd version also have a little bit faster storage, but nice vid
Thank you very much. I was really just testing the streaming software out and threw this together without any planning.
Awe
Good for you!
Good for you! I never win anything when I go to win star but I continue to try! Glad you had fun and I hope you went home with a little cash!
Arknoid's a fun one
Thank you, and I enjoy the podcast!
I'll be buying an emulator edition plus very soon, just sorting out all the components like TV, speakers, I5 PC fully loaded . I love Arkanoid even if i never was that good at it , but with a spinner my luck will change . Thank you kindly for this little showpiece , I apreciate .
Pre-me.
Nice and clean!
Poor Elmer
Does anyone recognize the couple at the beginning? I worked at Grand Prairie State Bank in the 70's and the man looks familiar and may have been one of the managers or officers when I was there. I find it interesting they filmed the bank, given the other things they could have filmed downtown. My folks would drop my brother and I off at 6 flags with $5.00 and we would stay literally all day until it shut down. We had money left over... it was so much fun.
My parents would do the same, but in the 90s, and with $20!
Neat to see all the stuff that's sill the same.
Bring back the REAL cave ride
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remember when they'd automatically slap a SFOT bumper sticker on your car, unless you signaled them not to by putting the drivers sunvisor down? Seemed like most the cars in Texas back then had those stickers. I grew up near San Antonio, and they were everywhere.
Wendel Cleghorn . That is awkward. I would not like it today if someone tried putting a sticker on my car without my knowledge. I guess that is why they stopped doing that.
Back then, most cars still had steel bumpers so it wasn't a big deal. I remember every car my parents had up into the mid-70's had one of those bumper stickers.
Yes. Everyone got a sticker. Like it or not.
Why are they screaming it not even scary I ride it 10 times
@mike burden- Actually; if proper maintenance and care are taken on figures like these; they last for many many years and look just as good as the day they were brand new. Disney has animatronics that are years old, still in use,and still looking great. Six Flags just does not maintain their animatronics properly when they build dark rides and they let the rides run down without any refurbishments. That is the problem. If they took proper care of it; it would look as good as it ever did.
This is so awesome!
So much better back then.
Oh my! This is Six Flags as I remember it in the beginning, before it became so commercial. Back when it was about the legacy and history of Texas. Thanks for sharing.
What makes SFOT thinks people gives a rats ass about looney tunes? Bring back the "lunkers"
what's sad is this ride is now showing it's age. Half the animatronics don't work, some of the wanted posters were torn off. I think this ride is on it's last legs.
My parents just had their 50th wedding anniversary. After getting married on 8/10/63 in central Texas, a trip to Six Flags began their honeymoon travels. As I watched this video, I tried to pay attention for any familiar face in the background. Oh well, it was a long shot! Thanks for taking time to convert and post this footage.
I am just in awe with this video... To see and recognize some of the buildings and props that are still there today. Even the train looks similar. Thank you for uploading this. I wonder if SFOT has video footage like this.
That is the Grand Prairie (Texas) State Bank at :17. That was my hometown. My first trip to Six Flags was in 1962 when I was 4 but I wasn't tall enough for the "big" rides at the time. The River Boat ride scared the doo-doo out of me when the cannons at Ft.St Louis started firing. They didn't have that stage coach ride very long. I also remember the Sky Hook in Boomtown. There was also a real helicopter ride but it cost extra to ride. Thanks for posting! Good memories!
Yes, it was the Grand Prairie State Bank, as I remember it. What a blast from the past.
Fun Meter: 1 1/2 Flags.
We are the same age. Funny. I remember that ride too. I actually thought it was lame, but when you ride the fastest coasters all day, you can't help but think that.
Hey this is the guys honest nice opinion. It may not be the most common opinion among SF history buffs but it is what it is. I will say SF has gotten much better over the years making rides that have much shorter wait times. This is from someone who remembers waiting 2 hours to ride the Cave or more to ride Big Bend. I also have taken my kids on Judge and it is my youngest ones fav ride.
SOOOO much different back then.....75 was my first time ,and there were still traces of this old park
And it's a shame that we can't say it any longer all because of a race.
I liked the park in the early years better. Mostly because the crowd was vacationers. Why pay to hang out around a bunch of local mall rats? What I mostly remember are the small things that lent emotion to the place. The lights in the trees at night riding the log ride, the Riverboat cannons booming, the smell of your girlfriend's sun tan lotion rising off her wet shoulders.
The kids working the park have always been rude.
Can you see how completely political correct maniacs have destroyed our society? We can't have a Confederate Army, mock gun fights, the Confederate Flag, the Mexican statues would be called racist and to replace them now we can be surrounded by 10,000 illegal ailiens when we visit Six Flags. How nice.
The thumbnail @ 2:56 doesn't exist anywhere in the video? lol
I have to say that this was informative as to just how incredibly dull Six Flags was back then. Don't get me wrong, I can't stand the corporate tie-ins at the place today, the rude punk teenagers walking around being jackasses like they own the place just because daddy bought them a season pass, the overpriced food and gift shop prices. But I go for the rides, and Six Flags has the best around. Got my son (just turned 5) on the Judge Roy Scream yesterday, and he loved it.
To have these days back again! this was my era of Six flags
I like it! Simple, easy to do, and also part of the main house. I also have a gameroom like yours and it's on the main level. I have (3) arcade machines (P.O.W, Space Invaders, and Defender) a also an (arcade style) air hockey table. I also have a lot of neon light signs and other things hung up on the wall too. I still have room for (1) more machine but I'm taking my time and find one that I really like and like all my machines, it must be in "mint" condition.
I remember every single bit of this! It's like you dug into some of the most cherished memories of my childhood and posted it here! I would rather drink battery acid than spend a day at the Six Flags of 2011. But back then, in the early 1960s, it managed to bring the history and diversity of Texas to life in a way that was incredibly real and compelling to a kid, if maybe not too accurate... Thank you so much for posting this!
thank u for posting this.
That film IS A great FIND!!!
