All Around My Hat
Hawkshead is a preserved and beautiful little village located among the hills and valleys of England's Lake District. We were lucky enough to obtain lodging for a night in an ancient pub, The Queens Head, en route to Manchester from a week in Scotland.
With a folk rock tune from Steeleye Span.

Purple Heather

The road from Fort William to Loch Lomand took us through some of the most amazing scenery I have ever witnessed. I found this great rendition of a Scottish favorite, sung by none other than Rod Stewart himself. Will ye go, Lassie, go? And we'll all go together, To pick wild mountain thyme all among the purple heather. Will ye go, Lassie, go?

If ever you get a chance to visit Scotland's Glencoe, please do it. A drive through these majestic highland mountains is at once an awe-inspiring and humbling experience which these images cannot hope to match. With a sweeping composition from the film, Rob Roy.

It was an appropriately grey and moody evening when we rolled into Luss, a town on the southwestern bank of Loch Lomand, an hour or so north of Glasgow. We visited a farm, a pub, and an ancient kirk and its cemetery. We selected this sad Scottish song from Deanna Durbin, featured in a film she made in 1940.

I will walk five hundred miles and I will walk five hundred more... scratch that! I will drive through beautiful Scottish coastal roads and visit Gardenstown, a charming seaside village set at the base of some mighty stone cliffs. With music from The Proclaimers.

Driving along the northern coast of Aberdeenshire, past fields of sun toasted barley nearly ready for harvesting... and the making of whisky... we pass through the seaside town of Banff. With music from the film, Rob Roy as accompaniment.

Whisky Galore was the name of a film about a remote area of Scotland during World War II that was blessed by a shipwreck and crates and crates of Scotch washing ashore, to the delight of the villagers whose supply of booze had been cut off by German submarines. I ran with that idea and created this little piece of nonsense using photos made at the Pennan Inn, in Scotland.

Walking the stony beach of Pennan, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland where threatening skies and squally showers can give way to fantastic vistas, especially with a tune from Local Hero in the background. Minor miracles can happen sometimes.

Hanging around Pennan's Harbour in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and listening to a traditional Scottish tune with an arrangement by Mark Knopfler. This charming little village was a primary shooting location for the movie, Local Hero.

*Pennan: The Magic Village. We had an opportunity to stay in this charming Aberdeenshire seaside village located along Scotland's remote northeastern coast. Just a handful of sea-facing stone cottages, a jetty, a small harbour... a sort-of-famous phone kiosk, a mail box, and one pub. We loved it. *Pennan was one of the primary locations for filming "Local Hero"; Bill Forsyth's warm and wonderfu...

We had a lovely time touring Scotland's coastal towns, her Highlands, lochs, and farmlands. Just a taste, mind ye. Set to a musical soundtrack featuring a diverse selection of artists from across many generations: Brian Eno, The Proclaimers, Capercaillie, Will Fyffe, Carter Burwell, and many more.

The Peak District of Derbyshire, outside of Manchester, England is a wild and beautiful landscape of verdant pastures, fields, peaks and rolling valleys, and some sudden and unpredictable weather. This short video is set to a 1968 rock anthem which has evolved over the years to become symbolic of loss and sadness, yet still holds out a glimmer of the hope of someday being reunited: "Meet On The...

A walk around Old Manchester to see the sights, a side-trip to a quaint Derbyshire village, and visiting the English branch of our growing family tree by the old hearth of home in Flixton and Urmston. Set to an extended version of a classic tune recorded by folk rockers Steeleye Span in 1975.

@@Buszkraftowski thank you for your kind comments. I would love to go back.
Thanks . I hope to see it soon in person
BRILLIANT!!!!
When John Lennon originally composed this song (and "Gimmie Some Truth") in 1971, he was aiming it at Dick Nixon, Spiro Agnew, and their cronies. Lennon didn't live long enough to see a Trump presidency, but I would bet that he (and his frenemy Frank Zappa) would write anti-Trump songs if they lived today. Of course, both Zappa and Lennon would be 83 years old if they were around today. They were both five years older than Trump.
pretty sure mccartney wrote one
@@indus402he did but i don't think it was an attack. Henley also changed his lyrics on colbert's show. Mark knopfler wrote a parody of the times. Music reflects the times.
FOWL PLAY Bob was an animal lover. He had a natural affinity for wildlife. Here we are in Paris in March 2008, sitting in the garden of Palais-Royal, enjoying some ham-stuffed baguettes we had made from the breakfast buffet back at our hotel in Rue Mouffetard. Bob never minded sharing with his pals. Enjoy.
Bird in Hand, is beautiful.
Beautiful footage
Is this the Official Music Video?

Yeah! I wondered if anyone had brought Trump and this song together. Two-plus years on, the combination is even more apposite.
The list is ever so much longer now...
