Safe Driving Tips with the ExplorOz Traveller App and EOTopo Offline Maps
if i intend to buy both online and offline maps should I buy the membership first to reduce costs...thankyou
@@jacklindley2135 the online maps are included at no extra charge. The Membership does not include maps or discount off maps. Just get app first then buy EOTopo in app.
Do you still require a wifi service on your ipad for this to work as i turned wifi off and removed sim and connected the garmin Pro via bluetooth had a location spot but no maps?
@@nigelread9113 once you have downloaded the offline map packs no internet is required.
Exactly! Thanks for your comments. Id love to hear how you make sourdough bread in the frypan.
We don’t cook much different to at home. It isn’t difficult to eat healthy. I even make frypan sourdough bread on the road.
ha.. its the obscure stuff I'm learning.. the swipe left on Place Search Results to do something with a Place without having to open the place.
Very nice 👍
:)
Perfect :)
A beautiful part of the country. We have kayaked the Mulgrave river 15 years ago before the crocs moved so far up. Not sure I would do it now.
@@chrisstewart1863 yes being croc aware in NQ is extremely important - we’ve been surprised! No wonder all the safe waterholes are so popular.
Yep. Think I would. lol. 😂
Gotta give it a go!

Great idea creating a Show on Map Folder
@@kombibob you give any name to a folder and all folders can be selected from map layers to show on map or you can apply a filter to show just selected folders. We just like this folder name for demos.
Great idea of the grouping of folders, helps to steam line the folder list. I also like how the position pin next to the search icon changes to a brown colour when the Data Manager is updating. All great improvements/additions. Thanks
@@kombibob glad you like it!
I wonder would you guys ever consider having hands on 101 courses for your fabulous software, I'm sure if you put the word out you would have many hands up. Even if only for us lucky Perth residents LOL
@@moikehunt8928 we give tips to anyone who asks for it. We are travelling fulltime currently in NT not back to Perth till at least mid next year.
when you place your own pins and they are then a place ... you can set up navigation using those ?
@@tomrollings4233 yes indeed
i do like these quick simple info videos very useful to go back to for reference :)
@@tomrollings4233 great this is how all our tuts are now.
very informative thank you .
Excellent app update tutorial, just love all the new features as they make an already great app even better, well done! One small addition that I would like to see in a future update is the option to turn on either a visual 👀 or audible👂alarm if you exceed the maximum speed limit by a user definable amount.
@@AusBam2 thankyou - did you notice the speed limit icon flashes when you exceed the posted limit? We are considering alarms so thankyou for your feedback.
@@ExplorOz-Traveller No I didn’t, thanks for pointing it out! Would still like to have an alarm option together with being able to set my own over-speed sensitivity limit, say between 1-10 Kph over the road designated limit. This then would stop the icon constantly flashing (or alarming) when you’re simply cruising along at the legal speed limit & you momentarily exceed it due to gradient changes, etc. An icon or alarm that keeps going off in circumstances as above then becomes a nuisance & you quickly become desensitised to it, a bit like the little boy that cried “Wolf”!
The audio doesn't seem to be very good on these series of tutorials.
Mine doesn’t show the maximum road speed even though I have it turned on in the settings
@@mikeburns8959 Mine works exactly as described but I don’t think that it displays the max speed until you’re actually moving so that might be why yours isn’t currently showing it on the display.
These short tutorials are very useful as they greatly assist with helping fully understand what you’ve just read in the manual. 👍
Glad you like them!
Is there a way to upload multiple files at once and put them into an existing folder. At the moment I have a 20 or so mountain bike trails i want to upload into a single folder. At the moment, I have to upload the file one at a time, delete the folder that is created, go out of the upload and into track logs, find the new track, change the folder. Its quite a painful process. surely there is a better way?
Please contact us direct if you need support go to the About page on our website for contact details. Phone/email. I'd be thinking you could just upload them all first - then go to your Track Log list - swipe left and tap the Folder icon to quickly change the folder each is assigned to - ie. change each to the one Folder because yes, each file is uploaded separately. The system will auto delete any folder that has no items in it. easy.
@@ExplorOz-Traveller ok, thanks
G'day guys, I am looking for a good offroad nav system for upcoming travels with a bunch of off line travelling. If I get this app, can it be downloaded on an android device as well as an ipad on the same purchase as a multiple download?
Thanks for your question! Here's a detailed breakdown of what you'll need: App Purchase: The ExplorOz Traveller app requires a separate purchase for each platform. This means you'll need to buy it from both the Google Play Store for your Android device and the Apple App Store for your iPad. Each purchase costs $60, so that's $60 + $60 = $120. Offline Map License: The EOTopo offline map license covers multiple devices and platforms with a single purchase of $50. This means you only need to buy the map license once, and you can use it on both your Android device and iPad. In total, your initial cost will be $60 (Android app) + $60 (iOS app) + $50 (EOTopo map license) = $170. This is a one-time payment, which is quite economical compared to the ongoing costs of other navigation systems. The app purchases include lifetime use with free updates, new features, and continual improvements. The offline map license is valid for 4 years, and if you spread the $50 cost over 4 years, it works out to just $12.50 per year. This setup ensures you have a robust off-road navigation system on both your Android device and iPad, providing great value and longevity. Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or need further assistance!
Great new feature the for folders . :)
Glad you like it! we've been using v9 (alpha and beta) now for over a month and we're super happy with the change from a usability viewpoint its just so much easier to search and organise your data.
where do you source your maps? are they hema?

Come across this mapping product as a UA-camr Adventure Motorcycle Rider was using this on his phone mounted to the handlebar. I bought the app and mapping for our off road motorcycling. Really liking it and unlike other products there are no ongoing costs to use the great offline map sets. Great work guys.👍👍
@@Simon-qy7pe great to hear your positive feedback thanks! Yes we dont like the subscription model either! Hope you get out exploring often.
O
We really NEED this app to be able to work on Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. How far off is this feature as its THE MOST LIMITING and BIGGEST PROBLEM with the otherwise fantastic ExplorOz?
Hi ,yours iphone is quit old ,so can I use iphone15 to connect ExplorOz app to 2021 ford everest please ?Thanks Richard.
This demo is using an iPhone14 thats not old and the phone model makes no difference.
You know what? I am a regular viewer of your UA-cam Channel. I have seen all your videos and your content qualities are very good. I learned lots of things from you. Your channel has great quality contents but still it is not delivering its right audiences due to SEO problems. You should focus on your SEO so that You can get a big fanbase. Thanks.
Are u sharing any further details - interested
Sure what would you like to know?
We didnt film the whole process but happy to discuss.
Did just spray paint the cylinder body - Special high temp? Did upgrade the pads - what did you choose? Any other mods from genuine toyota parts? Thanks
Going to have a better look at your app for our travels 👍🏻 Someone that used a Tekonsha P3 must know a thing or two about a good product! 😉
Does using the android version mean you need to buy an additional licence as I thought the app licence is specific to the OS / platform?
Yes these AI box adapter enable you to run a full Android OS via your headunit display so that you can access the Google Playstore (which you cant via CarPlay only headunits) so yes you then buy an Android licence for any app you want to use on that headunit such as ExplorOz Traveller. Only a one time payment of $59.99 no extras.
@@ExplorOz-Traveller Hi, Thanks for the reply. We already have an iOS licence (and online access to the app) and wanted to have access via Apple CarPlay... the above seems like a very expensive alternative. Thanks, Fausto
@@faustopighin it wouldn’t be an issue if the headunit gave access to the app stores so yeah this is the only cheaper solution to replacing the Headunit.
Hi Guys, Just purchased your Traveller App, offline maps and membership, supper impressed. Now working my way through your videos👍
Does the app work on headunits with Apple Car play?
To view the app on a Headunit you must have an Android operating system - either an Android headunit or an Android AI box adapter to your CarPlay headunit. We have documented these options on the Traveller webpage FAQ in the Headunits section. See www.exploroz.com/traveller or watch our UA-cam episode about Android AI Boxes. These are new technology to solve the issue everyone with a non- Android headunit has when trying to access app not listed in the CarPlay system (thousands of apps are not).
@@ExplorOz-Traveller Thanks and sorry for wasting your time, I did some searching.. Is the unit you were testing available now?
@@Producable no sorry but there’s many on the market now. We have listed these on the Traveller webpage in FAQ see www.exploroz.com/traveller
Nice setup and demonstration, can you recommend a good windscreen phone holder similar to what you're using that will survive offroad?
We’ve tried a few - that particular one is for iPhone with inductive charge. They do fall off occasionally but not related to 4wd, can happen randomly but not too frequently. Eg. 2-3 times in the last 5 months of our trip across Australia so far. It’s just a random purchase off eBay or maybe JBHifi? About $40. Sorry don’t have the exact details.
I love your offline maps in hi resolution
Thankyou so much!
How do you enter in gps coordinates to navigate to? Ive tried in the search magnifiing glass but the coords location wont show up (tried all the places/address etc.)
Hi - you need to press the pin this opens the create place tool - simply overwrite the lat/long coordinates it captures then save. Wait for it to sync then tap the marker it creates on the map snd use navigation as with any other place.
Happy to go an external bluetooth GPS like Garmin to add to an Android tablet 10 inch but still confused re specs needed like storage size, RAM, ROM, CPU, Android version and GPU to use your mapping software. At present a current member using it on my old Windows 10 PC with latest downloads and maps from you guys but need to move to tablet. Is wifi an advantage on device. If $1000 required, fine. Something like Samsung Tab S9?
Hi Steve if you buy an Android tablet like the S9 then it will have the GPS receiver built in - no need to buy or connect to an external GPS receiver such as the Garmin Glo - these are only needed for devices without built in GPS (ie Windows devices and Wifi only iPads.) There are no specific specs required for the app to run on as all modern devices are well speced just you will get better performance (faster screen response , less crashing, etc) when you buy a BETTER spec device - ie spend more money. In the Samsung range the S model tablets have better specs and performance than the A model tablets. With Apple iPads they dont make different spec iPads other than size, storage and with/without SIM card and GPS. Hope this helps. Its all in the documentation on System Requirements on the Traveller webpage - www.Exploroz.com/traveller if you need further clarification. Hope that helps. Don’t overthink it 👌🤣
Fantastic tips - really looking forward to following in your footsteps in Jan/Feb 25.
Glad you are finding it helpful- we will probably end up back there next summer too!
Hi, new user here, love the app and have been watching all the tutorials, very helpful. One thing I cannot figure out while planning navigation / trips is how to change the start point for navigation (always defaults to current location / position). I don't always want to start from home... Thanks, Fausto
Hi 👋 please look through the Help Guides as one of them is named Creating Routes and covers your query. Essentially the first place you add to your plan is your start point of choice then add additional places to route along. When you save your current location is not saved so you can open your Trek when you reach your start point with all routing saved for offline turn by turn navigation.
Love your funny dialogue
When will we be able to use it on Apple Carplay? That would be AWESOME! ❤
You can already - just get yourself an Android AI box adapter. If you look through our other videos on our channel youll find a demo of us explaining how they work. Heres the link ua-cam.com/video/rp_0E1vwVGw/v-deo.htmlsi=ovTr07dls6f4Voe-
