I have a question. If there's a claim that's straightforward enough for me to put the details of together within, say, Day 22, could I make just one submission comprising both the Notice and fully detailed particulars? I don't see a bar on this in the FIDIC form, but I thought I'd ask you as an expert

In my humble opinion, there should also be a reference to a previous communication of the said event, and a subsequent unsuccessful attempt by the Parties to agree an amendment, which is a prerequisite ere being able to serve this Notice

Thou might want to retitle the video, because it states 16.1 rather than 16.2.1. Furthermore, for the second letter, would it be okay to just make reference to the earlier Notice, and state that the Employer hasn't remedied the matter stated therein?

In the draft that you have so considerately suggested, I'm not sure that: a. this Notice is to be addressed to the Employer, since the Sub-Clause states that it's the Employer's Representative who's to be the addressee; b. "Statement of Application for Interim Payment" is a defined term, since 'interim payment' everywhere is, as a term, in lowercase, as is 'application'; or c. it's the Employer who has to be addressed in the concluding paragraph, considering that (i) he isn't the addressee to begin with, and (ii) the concluding paragraph of Sub-Clause 14.6.3 suggests that the 42-day period is to commence upon receipt of this Notice, which makes sense.

Call me finicky but I wouldn't capitalise 'determination' in the second paragraph of the draft letter you've proposed :)

The video is about 10 minutes long and definitely worth a view. I mention this because as QSS give very full coverage to the formalities of the letter, the text specifics are necessarily covered in less depth. On the other hand, my FIDIC standard letters make almost no mention of the formalities but are detailed in text specifics.
