1 bedroom high floor luxury hotel room in the heart of New York. Awesome 5 star service and amenities to splurge on yourself. Going rate for this room during this night was $3000 a night.
Go to the diamond district with 8k you'll do great
Thanks for an honest review. Was thinking of buying a band there, but not sure anymore.
First of all a wooden box? You know a man was behind that! My ring came in a black velvet box when opened it lit up. For what you paid there are no words! Those prongs are cheap and NO the stone wasn’t supposed to fall out. Send it BACK. The setting isn’t WOW either
I read On their site that it’s $100 to customize the stone to the band if that stone does not come with the band with the proper dimensions. The state If you do not add the $100 customization, the stone and band with come separate. You can see the stone was tucked into the pocket. I personally think that’s what happened, not that it fell out. It came separately on purpose. Details.
Hm I hope thats not the case. Odd to ship a loose stone rolling around in the box. Also when I contacted customer service they apologized and gave me the option to return it or repair it. They didn't mention anything about having to pay extra to mount it when ordering it or when contacting them afterwards.
@@wanderlust2522 I might be wrong, I could have sworn it was the same company you purchased from so I apologize if I got it confused. I’m glad they were willing to assist you tho!!
@@the_artaholic_ do you mind if I ask what site you were reading that from?
Stone should come in it's separate container and not tucked like that even if they didn't put them together on purpose. I think the price of the stone and the ring deserve their own jewelry box.
@@mekinny8491 agree
omg this is so scary, i've been reading on reddit that a lot of people have had their smaller diamonds falling out lately. Sounds like if my guy orders mine from here, he should have it ready for pickup at our Seattle location instead. Thank you for this review, the ring I want is like 20k so if my guy gets it, I would hate for us to go through something like this. So Sooo scary.
Glad it was helpful! Yea, would definitely get some kind of insurance if you do get it
This is why I ordered a bezel-setting for my gorgeous marquise, VVS1 diamond ring. I can wear it at work and the diamond won't get damaged or fall out. Bezel-setting is more expensive, but so worth it in terms of wearability.
Well good thing I saw this , I would be pissed as hell of this happened to me
That's quite disappointing from Brilliant Earth. Not sure if I could trust them after seeing this 😢
I'm glad you returned the ring because based on the look of the (loose)stone you showed, it had a bowtie and that's something you should stay away from when choosing an oval shaped diamond.
I wouldn’t trust anything like that being shipped. I’d definitely have to pick that up in person
Omg!
WoooooooW I will never buy for them.
I have a 4 prong oval 2.5 ct in the ring setting demi haven't had any issues with my stone being loose. My only complaint is that my 18k white gold setting is rubbing off. I messaged them on Instagram and they told me to send it back and they will gladly fix the issue. The only problem with that is my ring went missing the following day. It's quite annoying that my 6.5k dollar ring got up and walked away.
OMG !!! What a horror story indeed !!!! How unprofessional !!!😡😡😡
It's their way of saying," get a bigger diamond" or more like "build back better" ...thanks for the expose.
I’ve heard with ovals they recommend a basket with a wire wrapped around instead of four prongs because the stones can easily fall out
Ah I see. Would have expected them to tell me that
Give us an update 🙂
They just refunded my money in full. I had to return everything. Waste of time. No gedture except they said sorry about it. Lol
@@wanderlust2522 that is just horrible… im so glad you shared because there is so much focus on the pretty and nice. And then with that people purchase and run into a situation such as yourself. And it all could of been avoided if we had been told. Did you eventually find a place that you were happy with the ring???Thank you for sharing ☺️
@@tearyraindropsorry for the 2 year old reply. I found a ring at James Allen that I liked. I may do a review of that
@@wanderlust2522 thats wonderful to hear 😄
I'm sorry but when you opened the box and the diamond was not in the setting I could not help but to laugh. It's a shame because the diamond was beautiful and an E is colorless. Not sure why you said it was not colorless, I saw no color. So where will you be getting the replacement ring? My family and I have had excellent experiences with Blue Nile, just as a suggestion. My daughter recently got engaged and her ring is from Blue Nile and it is gorgeous and mounted/set correctly.
You need 6 to 8 prong not 4
That would have given me a heart attack to find it in pieces like that. Very shoddy workmanship. BUT if you love the stone and the ring then take it to a good local jeweler and have them reset the stone. Mine does it all the time. Cost is about $75.
Just make sure to check the serial number before and after, write it on the order form and have the employee witness and sign it. Got to watch out for diamond swapping by local jewelers. I was a victim of a diamond swap when I went to a local "reputable" jeweler to have my engagement ring sized after losing weight and they swapped my diamond and I had that diamond for 37 years. When I confronted the jeweler he said the diamond I now had was the same one I brought in, and I know for a fact they swapped it. I should have checked the serial number and had it written down on the order form and signed by the employee that took my ring. Lesson learned, Never again!
Why pay $75 for a mistake THEY made on top of the $8k he spent already
What about the fact if you are not happy with the stone or setting you could return one or the other. I would be very happy with that option and run to my local jeweler to set prongs. The diamond was set well within the case nestled between the setting. Maybe read packaging first before assumption.
Not sure what you mean. It is supposed to be set on the ring, which they confirmed after I called them.
Dude wasn’t unhappy with the stone, nor with the setting. He was unhappy that the stone apparently wasn’t set into the mounting properly if at all. It’s a quality issue. I would stay far away from this company due to this. It is inexcusable. For that amount of money this man deserves top shelf service also apparently not to be found with this company. Did you even watch his video that was posted??!
My engagement ring is from Brilliant Earth. I live in San Francisco, so my husband and I went in to their location and had the ring custom built. The fact that we went in to pick it up, the employees made sure everything was ok before we left. It’s alwAys tricky when you pay for the jewelry without seeing it first. That’s so upsetting. I don’t see how they could have missed that while packaging it.
Agreed! Their store didnt take walkins and had no appts so wasnt ideal for me
Thank you for this video. Not buying from their now.
Oh wow
I bought my diamond earrings from Brilliant Earth a year ago. They advertise it would come with a free silver necklace for purchase over $1000 but I only received a silver pearls earrings instead. 😅
I mean..it was free, tho..
I’ve actually heard they have a lot of bad reviews but if you look on UA-cam you wouldn’t know. Your video is very important… beautiful ring though Maybe keep the diamond it’s beautiful
I’ve read reviews like this as well. I’ve also heard they’ve told people in order for them to fix the ring when the center stone fell out that the customer has to sign an NDA beforehand. SKETCHY! Seems like they throw a big chunk of their money into marketing instead of the quality of their products.
Horrible. Hopefully you got a full refund and apology
Agree. No apology, but they refunded me. Bad experience after waiting a month for it. Can't imagine if I was on a timeline
Were you able to get the ring fixed? How many carats is it btw, it looks beautiful.
@@somehandleonyoutube i ended up returning it...it was beautiful but i wasnt sure i can trust the company anymore. It was 1.92 carats
No one with the company even offered you an apology?? All you got out of this deal was a crap pair of earrings. I sincerely hope you took your good money somewhere else after careful research.
Wow. That terrible.
This is the horror story I heard about these major jewelry companies that made me not want to buy from them. They plop the stone on a pre-made ring rather than having the ring made for the stone.
I've never had this problem with any piece of jewelry so no horror story for me :) I've never shopped from Brilliant Earth but have shopped with Blue Nile and I just love everything I received. I also spend the $250 to $400., depending on the item to have it appraised by an independent GIA appraiser and so far so good, no issues.
Hey! I was thinking of ordering from this company. How has it been working with customer service to address this issue?
Hello! Customer service has been fine. They accepted the return no problems. But they only let you return one like item, and given this experience, hesitant to trust their quality. Would probably get insurance
@@wanderlust2522 Thank you so much for your response. This video certainly made me hesitant. Insurance would be a must. They have a location in my city so I think I’ll have it shipped there and inspect it before leaving. Gorgeous ring otherwise! You have excellent taste.
