paint it Bronson Red and put the 'All Seeing Eye" on it then you'll have a bike worth keeping.

why is all the new gen so into the fake patina? why not just make it nice an allow the bike to naturally patina of course that means actually riding it and not just instagramimg that you rode it around the block.. my bike looks old as fuck naturally patina`d after riding it across country a few times.. just asking i dont see the interests in faking it to making it.. peace and love keep the rubber side down

My father had a 67 xlch with a ton of money put into it and the magneto wasn't hooked up so you had to turn it manually. It had a crazy green paint job with silver flake flames. He sold it in wallingford connecticut to a guy in Maine or Mass.

Oh, please, proper Italian for "Aermacchi": "Aermakki" not "Aerma-G". "Chi" is the Italian "K", just like the "Gh" in Spaghetti and Lamborghini is a "G".

i like it, nice and simple no frills. it reminds me of a similar knuckle chopper that i worked on with a friend back in the 70's. does it still have a manual advance and retard spark control? i'd like to see the other primary side sometime too. thnx for showing it to us.

I still love bikes like this! Most of us rode bikes like this up untill the late ninetees and then maybe some a little longer.Nowadays it's all baggers and just brand new HD's. Some of our older guys still have their bike from back in the days, or have one as a second bike- bar hopper. But out on a run you'll hardly ever see one . Anyway, great bikes you feature. Maybe you could show some more detail and ridin' footage? Very authentic,no BS, Love it.❤

Basics are OK,but there are a few things i would have done a little differently,so as you asked, here are some comments to kick around ,and hopefully you my see my way of puttin a bike together like i did back in 1963,,you said you started with a wish-bone frame. 1949 to 1951 model, Harley made that model frame till 1954,just for your younger viewers info.My preference was to use a Harley straight leg frame 1955 to 1957 model year,a much cleaner look ,I used a glide front end, stock rubber mounted risers with stock Flanders risers above them and topped that off with a pair of 15’’-‘’apes’’ or high bars to the uninitiated,to see a pair of Flanders risers modified ,as on your chop ,to me is nothing short of the ultimate sin,but that is probably because here in Canada they are nearly impossible to find, and to use a pair of 7/8’’ bars is just another thing that just would never happen, and to add to that you had to shimm the bars and never even trimmed the shims .do you think no one would notice? I would much prefer to grab a 1’’ throttle ,than a dinky 7/8’’ like they use on a ‘limey’’ bike.I made a one piece brake pedal, and inverted the short bracket on the left side, i did this as my own idea ,back in 1963,never having ever seeing a modification like that ,but i have saw where other guys have done the same thing since then, next he says we come to the fender, and as i see you have chose a narrower fender , i would like to see a Harley fender ,for that you could use a ‘’K’’ model or a ‘’sporty’’ just to keep it real, but with my bike ,i try to do it like they did it ‘’back in the day’’ I used a’’ chopped ‘’ down full fender to which i added a Finn with a molded in tail light made of formed plastic sheet material, for a gas tank i bought one of the very few new pieces,a peanut tank ,i molded a small scoop on each side ,then on the left side i had 2 short radio Ariels on the scoop, the Ariel’s had tear drop tips with one being 1/2’’ higher than the other, i ran 2 Volkswagen backup lights for headlights,ok in the city ,but couldn’t see a dang thing in the country, had to ride with a buddy .chrome frame ,salvaged 1959 FLH motor from a wreck ,and a real Harley chain guard, foot pegs in the side car brackets when i figure how to post a picture ,I’ll do so.-changed the front brake to the right side so the cables woudn’t cross, cherried the frame, and with about 165 lbs of me it went like hell. All this from ground up for under $ 500,o bucks,

You’re correct Harley made the wishbone from 48-54 but i’m sure you also know that there was multiple different wishbone frames due to castings and different motors mounts. This frame is a 49-51 if it was a 48 it wouldn’t have any provisions for horn blocks and if it was a 53-54 it would have the updated motor mount. The risers are original flanders 7/8th risers so no shims in them. Finding OG flanders in 7/8 is much harder. i have one other set but about 8 sets in 1 inch. I have a 55 straight let frame in my shop but much prefer the wishbone as the next bike i’m doing is going to be in a 48’ frame with a 48’ offset springer.
