Put some new brakes on the 245. I plan to upgrade to bigger calipers/rotors but I needed to replace these ones bad. You'll see why.

After cleaning out my Cylinder Head & Replacing Head Gasket I used Marvel Mystery Oil and Lucas Fuel System Cleaner and drove the car for 300 miles. The results were shocking. The oil was as black as tar and looked like it had been run for 30,000 miles. *The current oil in the car still looks fresh and new after 1000 miles* carefully read directions of all products listed above #volvo240 #volvo...

With routine maintenance you can keep them clean and easily clean / replace the flame trap filter. In this case, this PCV box was packed full of neglect and everything it was meant to protect suffered from it.

ua-cam.com/channels/G0cTGK7MyncaH-efXIQtmQ.html Saved this Volvo Wagon from the Scrap Yard / Daily Driver Project Rather than taking on a car payment for a new daily driver I bought this wagon. The owner was going to pull the motor and transmission before sending it to get crushed. Come hang out while I bring this beauty back to life!
Put the Oil Filter on too tight.
Yeah that first one was really on there. When I changed I just got it as snug as I could by hand and checked for leaks 👌
The yogurt container is a brilliant idea! Thank you for a great video. The Delo 400 was a surprise. Maybe I’ll try it.
@@davidblood9882 as you know there are some serious rabbit holes when searching for "the best" anything. A number of people on forums I trust love Delo in their race and daily driven cars. It's at local parts stores and isn't too spendy. The container trick I learned from my dad. Thank you for watching! Never thought an oil change video would get watched but this motor was gross so I figured why not film every step along the way.
That oil pan is very "sensual" looking....
Now that you mention it I can totally see what you're saying 🤣
About five years ago, my 2002 Chevy truck had a loud lifter ticking noise. It was a quart low on oil, so I added a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil to the crankcase. Soon the lifter ticking noise disappeared. I drove the truck about 400 miles and when I changed the oil, it was extremely dirty. This was telling me that the MMO was removing the sludge out of the engine. I have also been using Marvel Mystery Oil in the fuel of my car, truck, and lawn mower at every fill up since 2016. Everything is running better than ever, and my car now gets at least one to two more miles per gallon on the highway.
This stuff is amazing!
Hey man, you just picked up a B23 from me and mentioned the channel, so here I am. Good stuff.
🙌 hey dude thanks for finding me. I'll be lurking your channel this evening 🕵️♂️
04:05 that hammer ... used the same one yesterday re&re'ing a front crankshaft seal 😂 funny seeing it in your video
There's a few cramped spots on these cars but I can't complain. Being NA under the hood it's like an old farm pickup space wise.
Yay!! So much better! Does this have airbags or too old of a car?
No airbags but it's crazy how much safer they are than almost every other car.
The sound effects are a nice touch! 💯
I'm trying so hard not to voiceover! I hope the sound effects and captions make people happy 🙏😬
That makes my hands and wrists ache just watching this lol
Definitely a different kind of Yoga 🤣
Nice!

Nice to see
Fixing stuff is my favorite ☺️
ok, curious. the lead for my O2 sensor on my 93 245 goes behind the head as you've shown. i've noticed a "block off" on the header before the cat and saw this video and was like oh dang that's where it is.
If I'm understanding you, you are saying you have more than one spot an O2 sensor could go. Some models don't have the spot we're talking about up by the head. I just heard from a guy whose 88 only has the spot by the CAT. Volvo liked moving things around depending on year and where at in the world the car was released.
@@ShiftBricksGarage the lead on my 93 goes behind the head, when i run the code it's showing O2 sensor. please keep in mind I've had this car for just a year and I'm slowly learning. However, i noticed a bolt in where I would've assumed was the port for the O2 sensor on the exhaust before the CAT. Perhaps there is more than one spot for the O2 sensor to mount? Bottom line, I've not been able to tell where that lead goes.
@@pjmcilwaine later models have the O2 sensor down by the cat
@@markkaufman5031 correct, the port is blocked off and whomever connected the lead to something behind the head that i simply can't see. I'm gonna see if i can remove the bolt on the exhaust closing the port, plug the O2 sensor in and see what happens. if no good I'll just put it back as it was. I'm thinking it was bypassed somehow. the car runs very rich so I'll experiment and see....
Man I was just thinking I need to do this on my car. 👍🏼
Take a look at it. If it's good 👌 if it's bad it'll be easier when the part arrives. I'm gonna check mine here and there until I get it running great.
Doing mine this week! Mine’s an ‘89 so it’s down by the cat.
@@markkaufman5031 spray it with somethin like Blaster a few times before the and let it stew 👌 This one on my 87 was so easy I think the universe was being nice to me 🤣
I love working on my Redblock.
Always something to do!
Looking forward to the next video!
Good idea! The Volvo car community is really going to benefit from this guy. 👏🏼
🥺❤️
Good Job! Keep it up!
