Blasphemy!! Your heavenly father is not a priest....oh good grief....I can't handle this......God save him. Giving God's attributes to Mary ......considering that when you pray the rosary SHE can hear you? That is blasphemy....dangerous. She is not omnipresent. She is not a part of the trinity. Turn .....Lord have mercy on him. Forgive him, he knows not what he says, does, believes. He is trusting his feelings. If you have never met true believers ......what in the world.......I know many truly penitent. The issue is people are too scared to be honest with people about their sin. Did YOU ever weep over your sin to a friend at your church? No....hiding in a hole, behind a screen to tell a priest the truth......is not walking in the light...confident of God's mercy. The command "Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that your sins may be healed."

"Tremendous man of faith....Ravi Zacharias ....Billy Graham??!?!" Tremendous frauds.....sad deal. I converted from devout catholic faith.....to reformed Christian. I can understand the craving for something different after the denomination failed.....but honestly....I doubt he's known the Christ. A solid doctrine of suffering would be a tremendous help for him. Praying for light and life. There is no way that this is easy for a believing wife......pray for his home....I can't imagine if she's a Christ follower - how devastating. The new direction of the catholic church via their fraudster pope affirming gay marriage has shed much light on where this false religion comes from. Not the bible.

Typical Adventist denial & refusal to open their mind enough to actually consider the sense which our answer makes. They won't even comprehend or analyze the answer. Most of the people i know who were born into this cult don't even have remedial education on history. They have been lied to since birth & indoctrinated into a belief system of fear & anti-Catholic nonsense.

Im def buyin his book. Freedom from evil spirits. I recently cried out to Jesus and genuinly repented one night ans my entire life changed. All the fear in my life dissipated. All my interests, music i listen too, videos and movies i watched all changed overnight after that night. I became obsessed with the pursuit of seeking God out ever since that day of repenting. I became radicalized. All addiction left. All depression and anxiety left instantly after repenting. Genuinely repenting is the key to salvation. I saw evil leave my life physically. I ended up seeing a bright beam of light in the form of a perfect cross so it was supernatural experience as well. I couldnt believe how real Jesus is. I now have dedicated my life to him.

Nonsense There is Nothing in the New Testament that indicates Sunday as the day of worship. Sunday worship is an institution of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church admits to this. Just because you interviewed a former Adventist doesn’t change this fact. Mark 2:27 The sabbath was made for man not man(anthropos) for the sabbath. This clearly shows the sabbath was intended for all people not just the Jews.

The Lord himself said " One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism". Not many different churches, many different concepts of God, and not many different types of baptizing someone, etc, etc. He established 1 True Church and God can let us know what that is by following James 1:4. " If ye lack wisdom let me ask of God...,". If you are sincere he will let you know in his own way and time. A few things to look for in the True Church he himself established in these last days are. Organization (Prophets, Elders, Seventy, Patriarchs, Deacons, Priests, etc) are positions in his church, "Priesthood Authority" that can be traced (lineage) back to Christ thru the laying on of hands, Revelation or communication (living Prophets that live on the earth today), The True Church will bear his name (Jesus Christ). The Catholic Church is NOT that church or other Protestant churches just to be very clear. Put your trust in God and ask him to guide you and he will !!! Follow the guidance above, follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost in you, and rely on God for your answer.

William I admire your knowledge of the early church but I feel like there’s conflicting quotes that show the churches in the east continued sabbath observance and polycarp kept Passover to celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord as taught to him by apostle John while the west kept Easter Sunday eventually the west won out but why didn’t everyone get the memo ? “For although almost all churches throughout the world celebrate the sacred mysteries on the sabbath of every week, yet the Christians of Alexandria and at Rome, on account of some ancient tradition, have ceased to do this. The Egyptians in the neighborhood of Alexandria, and the inhabitants of Thebais, hold their religious assemblies on the sabbath, but do not participate of the mysteries in the manner usual among Christians in general (Socrates Scholasticus. Ecclesiastical History, Book V, Chapter XXII. Excerpted from Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, Second Series, Then later on it seems that some in the east kept both days while the west kept Sunday then eventually Sunday only won out once Constantine decreed it he didn’t invent it but he decreed it as obligatory for all Christians even though this was a practice that started in the west to honor the resurrection it wasn’t among all Christians at first. You mentioned polycarp but would he of kept the sabbath or Sunday ? Easter Sunday or the Passover ? Sincerely I just want to understand Polycarp fought against Rome changing Passover to Easter ..."All these observed the fourteenth day of the passover according to the Gospel, deviating in no respect, but following the rule of faith. And I also, Polycrates, the least of you all, do according to the tradition of my relatives, some of whom I have closely followed. For seven of my relatives were bishops; and I am the eighth. And my relatives always observed the day when the people put away the leaven. I, therefore, brethren, who have lived sixty-five years in the Lord, and have met with the brethren throughout the world, and have gone through every Holy Scripture, am not affrighted by terrifying words. For those greater than I have said 'We ought to obey God rather than man.... Why did the church retain Pentecost a Jewish feast where the spirit came in acts 2 but let go of Passover when the east was keeping it to honor Christ ? There are many examples of either Constantine or some not all of the church father who made anti Jewish remarks and basically didn’t want anything in common with them Constantine is said to have said he didn’t want to depend on any Jewish calendar to calculate our paschal feast (Passover) Easter in other languages is the same word for Passover hence that’s the origin of it. Despite me sharing all of this I’m a former sabbatarian I’m now non denominational but open to where over the Lord calls me I just decided the sabbath was never commanded in the NT for all of believers based off acts 15 while also realizing as Jews the disciples continued to observe it in acts. What about Jewish believers can they still live as Jews or do they need to assimilate? I find it clear from acts 21 and 1 Corinthians 7:18 it’s clear Jews don’t have to let go of their heritage but neither should they impose the Torah on gentiles I came to the conclusion the sabbath isn’t meant for all peoples in all geographical locations because what about ppl in Alaska ? Extended hours of daylight and night and biblically speaking the sabbath is Friday sundown to Saturday sundown which is the 7th day so how can one in Alaska observe it ? However I definitely do see that the earliest Christians in the east had some reverence for the sabbath and Passover which became the quartodeciman controversy I just want to reconcile all of this information in light of everything I’m reading I’m still torn on the sabbath and why the west changed the day of Passover to Easter when polycarp said John taught him to but I definitely do see that the Christians in the west didn’t have the same tradition

Hear the Truth from your Redeemer Himself whom you call Jesus, at the bottom of this comment is more of the Word of the Lord spoken to this generation; "5/14/05 From The Lord, Our God and Savior The Word of The Lord Spoken to Timothy For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear Thus says The Lord: Beware, O peoples of the church called mother. For she is a harlot, a false way, a deceitful house filled with both great and subtle deceptions. Be wary, rouse yourselves from this heavy sleep, and look upon the fruit of your doings. For you have been greatly misled, caught up in a faith which is dead; there is no life in it! For as it was written by My servant, so in like manner I now plead with you: Depart from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things, from those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perversity of the pagan, whose ways are crooked and who are devious in their paths. Be delivered from the adulterous woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words, who forsakes the husband of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God. For her house is sinking down to death, and all her paths lead to the dead.[1] Therefore thus says The Lord God, The Holy One of Israel, to all who have ears to hear: This unholy church of men is a harlot! From the beginning she has been a whore! Yet she would have all believe she is a queen, even the true church and mother. Indeed, she has bore many sons and daughters, daughters who yet bear her likeness; and many sons who shall go to perdition, false fathers[2] and priests, who by their own authority take to themselves proselytes, who they then make twice as fit for destruction as themselves![3] Behold, deception is hidden within deception, as she continues to build up her sins toward heaven. For I tell you a mystery filled with corruption, Abuse of power and contemptible ways: This church of men is like the woman who rides the beast; She is clothed with purple and scarlet, enticing the People to commit fornication with her... Yet to her own, she is a queen who sits upon My throne and has taken to herself My authority, Perverting My Word and changing My Commandments As she appoints kings and princes in her own name, Each with names of blasphemy upon their heads, So-called holy fathers who shall go into perdition with her... And yet to those against her, she is the beast. Yet I tell you the truth, all are deceived. For her power and authority come from the beast, which atop she sits. For she has many names of blasphemy, and all her works are an abomination before The Lord. She is indeed a harlot, and her adulteries are many. Behold, she is also like the great whore who sits upon many waters, who has corrupted the earth with her fornications. And like the false prophet she spews perverse and bitter doctrine, leading many into false worship, even to the committing of fornication with the pagan and the heathen by all her filthy traditions! And like the beast, she has shed the blood of My servants throughout her generations, and has not ceased from opening her mouth to speak great things and blasphemies with a practiced and lying tongue, by which she has deceived many. Therefore, I must take My people out of her! Behold, I shall snatch them from her very breast! For she is also like Babylon, adorning herself with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornications.[4] Thus says The Lord to the deceptive harlot, to the mother of all fornications: Woe, I say to you! Even three times, woe! For the atheist shall have it far better than you, when the wrath of the great and dreadful God has come! For when they seek forgiveness, they shall surely find it. Yet woe to you who blaspheme the Spirit; from you forgiveness has fled away![5] Behold, destruction waits for you as you continue to tread the wide path![6] For you believe yourself to be a glorious vine, yet your roots are full of rottenness, a vine of deceit with many tendrils spreading forth abomination! Behold, you see yourself as a sovereign nation, as the mother church, universal, and yet you willingly go into captivity and hold fast in your rebellion! Therefore, I shall make you a desolation and an astonishment, an object of horror and hissing; I shall strip you bare! And behold, you shall become an island, a most desolate place amidst the nations. No more shall anyone draw near to you, nor shall any attempt to pass through. For all shall keep their distance for fear of your punishment. Every traveler shall go roundabout, horrified at the smoke of your burning. For thus says The Lord: I have set you apart for judgment! I have separated you out for death, for sorrow and for famine, until the fire of My wrath consumes you! For you have caused My beloved to depart from Me; you have turned them aside from The Way! You have caused them to trust in fables and to put their hope in lies and false visions, in worthless things![7] The Truth is not in you, and from The Life you are far removed![8] You have pierced My heart with a hot iron! You have battered and bruised Me, and torn My flesh! My sadness fills the heavens like the unending blackness, My tears cover the earth like the oceans, because of you! My anger wells up within Me like a raging fire, on account of all these you have persecuted and murdered throughout your generations! Indeed, the cup of My indignation overflows, on account of all you have done and are about to do, says The Lord. And still I sent to you many in My own name, that you might be saved from yourself. Yet you rejected them all, beating some and killing others, casting them out in your pompous rage. You will not turn, and so The Father has declared your end. WOE TO THE CHURCH CALLED MOTHER! WOE TO YOU AND YOUR APPOINTED LEADERS! WOE TO YOU AND ALL YOUR “HOLY FATHERS”![9]... WOE TO THE CHURCH CALLED ROMAN AND CATHOLIC! WOE TO THE CHURCH FULL OF DEAD MEN’S BONES![10]... For I have prepared a great fire, and behold, it is already kindled, And you, along with all who cleave to you, shall surely be cast into it![11]... SAYS THE LORD." www.thevolumesoftruth.com/Woe_to_the_Church_Called_Roman_and_Catholic

There is no substitution for the God given instinct of self preservation. While this is the cause of many great sins. It also the basis for making damned sure of your own salvation. After having grown up reading almost daily from the volumnous writings of Ellen White and living the life of a pastors kid even though my folks weren't even in leadership, My mom would exact severe punishment upon the slightest infraction so that whenever other folks saw the perfect behavior of HER children. I'm here to tell you that life AFTER Adventism is truly wonderful. And life in the Ancient Faith which is ACTUALLY that which was established by our Lord is by comparison bliss.

Catholicism contradicts the Bible in multiple areas. So does the Catholic Church have authority or does the bible have authority. If the Catholic Church gets its authority from the words of Jesus recorded in the bible then the bible holds authority over the Catholic Church.

Hi Cole, thanks for your comments. Couple of things I would say to your comment. First, when you say that Catholicism contradicts the Bible, what you're really saying is that your interpretation of the Bible contradicts ours. Of course, that pushes the question back to which interpretation is correct. Second, the Church doesn't get its authority from the words of Jesus recorded in the Bible, it gets its authority directly from Christ who have his authority to the Apostles. Some of the apostles (and their inspired companions wrote Scripture), so even if no Apostle (or companion) wrote, the Church would still have its authority from Christ. Thank you for listening to the Show!

@@concernedcitzn Well you can say your interpretation is correct even if the scripture clearly says otherwise. Saying repetitive prayers, calling priests father, confessing your sins to a priest instead of directly to God, priest celibacy, the immaculate conception, the papacy of Peter, the hierarchy of the church, are just a few catholic doctrines in direct conflict with the scripture. And some verses condemning things such as calling priests father and saying repetitive prayers are so strangely specific it's almost like they were meant only to refute catholic doctrine.

All word's just nothing new. Billy Graham the most famous evangelist admitted before he died that his ministry failed in America. The Christian historical record is not good regards their false claims through the biggest forgery in history, the donation of constantine, exposed by the brilliant philogist and Catholic priest as a forgery. Imagine they accuse the Protestant faith and others ,yet never discuss this donation. Centuries of wars and millions of follower's deceived by this forgery. Lorenzo Valla is the man who exposed this forgery, and the errors of Jerome's translation of the Vulgate by the Greek documents. This donation was political and their final break with the eastern othodox church.

This passage speaks to the Catholic Mass. 1 Cor 10:15 I speak as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say. 16 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ? 17 Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.

Question. Where did the apostles tell Jews that they no longer needed to follow the Torah? Yes, they are told that there was no way to be justified in following it (it’s affirmed as “good” but impossible to keep and thus reveals sinfulness when it’s adherents fail), but Jews were commanded to keep it. I only see where non-Jews were told that this wouldn’t be required of them, not that Jews were free not to follow it. It appears that Jewish followers of Jesus continued to obey the Law. Peter is still eating kosher in Acts. Paul & Timothy are still offering Temple sacrifices according to the Law in Acts. It seems only the non-Jews were free not to follow the requirements required specifically of Jews. Did I miss something?

This is a great question and I'm afraid it requires a much longer answer than I can give here. The "works of the law" professed faith in the messiah who is to come. Once the Messiah came, the Mosaic law was transformed. The moral law remained, but the ceremonial law was altered. What you're seeing in the NT is that Christians continued to be involved in Jewish aspects of life in order to evangelize. As Paul said, "To the Jews I became like a Jew to win over Jews; to those under the law I became like one under the law-though I myself am not under the law-to win over those under the law." (1 Cor. 9:20). Peter may have kept the Kosher law, but he received a revelation that God has proclaimed all food clean (Acts 10:11-16). There are other examples that can be given. Hope this helps.

Husband: I'd be grateful for an understanding reply to the following. "I am in no wise even a would-be philosopher, only a believer seeking understanding. First, the Problem. The Famous Thomist philosopher Etienne Gilson writes, surely accurately, in his Christian Philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas "... at the very place where the Summa of Alexander and the Commentary of St. Bonaventure undertake to show that the existence of God is evident, St. Thomas devotes an article to proving that it is not. "We have identified the theses to which St. Thomas objects, but we must now be more precise about the real sense and significance of his refutation of them. His basic objection amounts to this: that all the arguments that God’s existence is self-evident depend upon a common error-they mistake for God Himself what is only an effect caused by God. For example, if we admit with John Damascene that we have natural knowledge of the existence of God, this knowledge will be at most an effect of God or His image stamped in our thought. "But to infer from this that God exists, demands a demonstration. If we say with the Augustinians that God can be immediately known by the intellect as light is immediately visible to the sight, or that God is more interior to the soul than the soul itself, it must be replied that the only beings directly accessible to our knowledge are sensible things. "A demonstration is therefore necessary if the reason is to ascend from the realities thus given to it in experience to the reality of God who is not so given. "St. Anselm’s argument contains the same error. If we begin with the principle that there is a being than which none greater can be conceived, it goes without saying that such a being exists, but his existence is only evident by virtue of this supposition. "In other words the argument amounts to saying that we cannot understand that God exists and conceive at the same time that He does not exist. But we can very well think that there does not exist a being than which none greater can be conceived. In brief, the idea of existence is never the equivalent of existence. Existence is established or demonstrated, it is not deduced."37. And, "There would be no atheists if the existence of God were so evident that it required no demonstration" And with that last my problem is brought into sharp focus. For, while appreciating and learning from St. Thomas as an aid to "faith seeking understanding," I have always been far more sympathetic to Augustine, Anselm, Bonaventure, et al. on this matter than to St. Thomas here, precisely because according to Sacred Scripture, God Himself reveals His own existence to all men, leaving us "without excuse" before him. And from what I can gather, with a single exception I can think of, almost no one I have known in almost five decades was converted to Christ in His Church except by a direct encounter with Him by His grace (even Mr. Feser), often through reading the Gospels, or proximity to sacraments, and / or by the hearing of the Word of the Gospel. I certainly was not converted to our Faith as a youth by St. Thomas' Five Proofs for the existence of God, even if later I found them helpful in certain respects. I don't deny their general validity for apologetics. To the contrary they supplement other proofs in showing that our Faith is rational. But as for Gilson saying, "There would be no atheists if the existence of God were so evident that it required no demonstration" this seems palpably false to me, since our rebellious sin nature accounts for and precedes a determination to systematically and lastingly pursue a life of dogmatic belligerent doubt and atheism. Existential vs. Cynical Doubt If one can conceive of 'A,' one can conceive of what is not 'A', or the absence of 'A'. Certainly, then, I distinguish existential doubt from cynical doubt and denial. Existential doubt in a reflective person is something which can sometimes simply occur unexpectedly, but it is not wanted, not pursued and nurtured. Rather, it is a prod to deepen prayer, contemplation and study more profoundly. Existential doubt is allowed by God for our ultimate Good on route to salvation. The Little Flower St. Therese of Lisieux, for example, experienced this temptation to doubt for a long period in her final passion and Dark Night of the soul. But not for a moment did she invite such doubt or nurture it cynically. Instead she discerned in it, as her spiritual father, St. John of the Cross, did, God's weaning us from the dependency on spiritual feelings and delights, and perhaps even from rationalist argument-props. And so she took refuge rather in the apparent darkness of this Cross which is really a Light "too bright for our eyes". Consider: who cannot see the difference between the temptation to "doubt" in St. Therese and the viciously cynical doubt of, say, a Voltaire, David Hume or a Friedrich Nietzsche? St. Therese's "doubt" was in fact the deepest faith, a clinging to the hem of Christ's garment, the deepest of graces, graces which He offers us, though these appear as "darkness" to the soul's dim eyes which He seeks to dilate in time through salvific spiritual suffering and trust. Rebellion For Voltaire, Hume or Nietzsche, however, doubt was cynical, the deliberate rejection of even the theological virtue of Hope. They sought nothing less than the insane ascendancy of the almighty Self, preferring "genius" (which, being poor fools, they supposed for themselves) to humility; power, fame and human autonomy to any bending of the knee before God their Maker. They deliberately viewed "facts" very differently than a man yielding to God's grace. So God abandoned them to the desires of their heart. Because they rejected the Self-Attesting revelation of God to all men (Rom.1). St. Paul teaches, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and injustice of those men that detain the truth of God in injustice: [19] Because that which is known of God is manifest in them. *For God hath manifested it unto them* (emphasis mine). [20] For the invisible things of him, from the creation of the world, are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made; his eternal power also, and divinity: so that they are inexcusable. [21] Because that, when they knew God, they have not glorified him as God, or given thanks; but became vain in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was darkened. [22] For professing themselves to be wise, they became fools." In sum: Reason, it seems to me then, if pursued with good will, leads us to "The Way, the Truth and the Life". Reason, proofs and arguments however allow no exit of excuse. In this I totally agree with St. Thomas. But I've seldom seen reason and argument work faith in many persons in a primary way, even if it assists and assures us after God Himself has already convinces us by grace. Again, reason and "facts" are viewed very differently by Christians and determined nonbelievers. St. John declared in the fourth Gospel that Jesus Christ is "the true light, which enlighteneth every man that cometh into this world. [1:10] And si God Himself leaves us without excuse. St. Paul in 1 Corinthians exults in the Self-Attesting God of revelation: "For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not in wisdom of speech, lest the cross of Christ should be made void. [18] For the word of the cross, to them indeed that perish, is foolishness; but to them that are saved, that is, to us, it is the power of God. [19] For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the prudence of the prudent I will reject. [20] "Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? [21] For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world, by wisdom, knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of our preaching, to save them that believe. [22] For both the Jews require signs, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: [23] But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews indeed a stumblingblock, and unto the Gentiles foolishness: [24] But unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. [25] For the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men." And so God Himself places all persons everywhere under obligation to follow His revealing graces which, by every road, lead us to Him and to salvation. And we are all "without excuse" should we determine to reject those Self-disclosing gifts. "I believe in order that I may understand" -- Anselm of Canterbury "Crede, ut intelligas" -- St. Augustine Lk. 16:31: "He said to him, 'If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.'"--- SH

@@catholicresourcecenter4330 If you believe the image on the shroud of Turin, then you don't know the Bible. You really need to study the Bible. Jn 11: 44. Jn 19: 40. Jn 20: 5--7. Tells us what manner the Jews covered the dead, and it wasn't with a shroud. It was with strips of linen cloths and a separate head cover. Plus, the image on the shroud of Turin looks nothing like Jesus would have looked. Jesus could see and count His bones and see His intestines because He was so badly whipped open . The Bible also says Jesus was so badly marred that He wasn't recognized as a man. So, you either become science and man, or God and the Bible. I thought you said you have studied the Bible. ?.
