Replacing Valve Seals - 1963 Falcon

Finally diving into the Falcon and trying to go down the list of issues one by one. It's old, it's greasy, and there isn't much room, but there's a show next week I want to drag the car to. Never done this before, but I see their ads all the time, so figured I would give it a shot and bring everyone else along for the ride. Parts arrive at 9:14. The CHEAPEST SBC Serpentine Belt Kit

No way am I spending $1500 on a serpentine kit for my small block Chevrolet, but I also want something reliable. After researching for weeks, I finally found a good solution. Chevrolet makes an off the shelf kit that utilizes brackets from a 1992 Camaro, BUT with the aid of a few part numbers, you can find all those parts for much cheaper on eBay. Summit Carburetor Rich Idle Fix
Переглядів 6 тис.Рік тому
I've spent the last couple of months battling my Summit Racing M2008 Series carburetor and a rich idle. I had the mixture screws turned all the way in and it still wasn't lean enough. I watched a million tuning videos and tried a handful of other fixes thinking it could be a vacuum leak, the timing was too far out, or I had the plugs. Nothing would fix it. Finally I stumbled upon this forum pos...

0:18 drilling holes into the dash to ad cheap aftermarket gauges is really insane. You could have put them where the ashtrays are so you can hide em if needed but holes in the plastic dash ? Big no no. Some idiot did that on my 66 with a switch to the heater fan to bypass all the automatic climate control (bcs the AC was removed) and now i’m left searching for an undamaged black plastic trim piece that goes there.

The funniest thing about American compacts,..like the Ford Falcon,...was that in countries like New Zealand, Australia etc... where most vehicles came from England, they were still seen as a large car,..especially compared to cars like the mini, Morris minor, humber 80, Ford Cortina, Vauxhall viva .....

Looks cool, but should'a read the shop manual, removing the regulator & motor together is the way. thats why you can't just remove the motor alone...its also very dangerous since the window is under spring tension. Also gives access to the tracks and guides to be cleaning and lubed and It will work like new. I've done these on my 67' Caddy Convertible.

@@kevinwestmoreland2099 I googled “Holley 4010 diagram” and I don’t see the same restrictor indicated under the booster, so I would assume you couldn’t. You could pop it off and double check, though.

@deadwaitdesigns thanks for the response. It was said that summit changed a design feature before using this type. According to holley, the 4010 / 4011 didn't sell well since they didn't look like a traditional holley carb. I've also heard there was a flaw in the design when built by holley. I happen to like the design. Thanks again.
