progress video 13
Hello guys! In this video, I'm testing the sensors, (4 leg loadcells, head loadcell, mouth loadcell, 4 micro lidars (VL53L0X) and Husky lens machine vision camera) and showing the head design which I just finished working on.
next I will work on some movement tests using the sensors and maybe doing some walking.

I added two new servo actuators for the head (y axis and jaw) after trying about 3 other designs for the head I selected this one. I mounted the head on a loadcell to detect bumps and impact, next I will be adding the top part of the mouth and a huskylens for a bit of AI image recognition. Like, comment subscribe, much appreciated, and thanks for watching!

I decided to work on the tail servo mount which also contains the main computer battery (underneath), and two battery level indicators (one for servos and one for main computer) which are connected to a teensy 4 microcontroller using two 4 Channel Optical Couplers, to protect the microcontroller. The tail is just a spring with a 3d printed tip and two rubber spacer bushing washers. lastly I wil...

It has been a while since I uploaded, just wanted to show my progress, I love building robots, love science and technology, and I am always thinking or working on something, hope you enjoy the video, comment and subscribe, much appreciated!
Robot Dog Activity Test
Переглядів 128Рік тому
This is a short activity test, using the on board computer and batteries. The activities done here include the following: - Sitting down - Briefly staying seated - Standing up - Walking forward - Briefly Turning Left/Right - Walking backward - Returning to starting standing idle position - Moving Head X,Y (both degrees of freedom) - Opening mouth - Making a sound - Closing mouth
First time with no umbilical cables
Переглядів 127Рік тому
This is the very first time the robot is running without any external umbilical cables, it is now using the on board LattePanda V1 windows computer and batteries.

Sorry about that crazy phone 😅
Like the 3d printer...you have a great imagination to build your robot love it.
Like the 3d printer...you have a great imagination to build your robot love it.
It moves really great kinda like my Aibo...excellent job my friend.
Give that robot life my friend...thanks for sharing your improvements.
Gotta love a fully autonomous robot..great job a lot of great ideas and improvements. 2 👍 👍 up.
Your robot definitely moves way better then my Aibo...looks amazing my friend keep it up.
It's been a long time my friend...you accomplish what most people dream about...absolutely amazing work take care 👍
Thanks Ray! Yeah been a while bro, I've been slowly chipping away on the progress and hoping to finish soon 😄
Always happy to see a update on this project :D
Nice man it looks like it is really coming together!
Thanks! Yeah it's moving along haha, the head is the last part to build, so I hope to finish soon.
This is very cool design! I wonder if any custom PCBs and 3D'd part can help for the upgrade work? We're open to sponsor free service. (PCBWay zoey)
Wow i could barely make my arduino 2WD robot car work. Subscribed!
Cool project, subscribed.
Thanks! I will be posting more progress vids soon.
Moved to a smaller apartment so you have more money for robotics? I know that feeling 😂. Great to see how this is progressing. I love this build 👏
Thanks! Yeah a necessary sacrifice for the advancement of science and technology 😄
It's so common to see these projects go unfinished, so it's awesome to see an update. I'm working on a fully custom stepper-based robotic arm, so believe me, I know how hard it can be to keep pushing through. What a huge improvement over your last model! Nice work man!
Thanks!, oh yeah it is tough to stay focused with lots of distractions and obstacles these days, cool I haven't messed with steppers yet but I will try that in the future, just got to keep on going, even a little progress is better than none 😄
Nice hope to see ore int the future
You need Instagram and Tik Tok to get more audience
Good Work
could you share the code please?
I love watching the progress on this 👏
What the heeeeell That’s awesome
Wth is it
Very cool
Looking Good!
No, wow! And that's all on the latte panda and unity?
Thanks! Yeah it is the lattepanda and Unity, I am getting a consistent average of about 35 frames per second in unity which is decent for a small computer like this.
Awsome!
It's come so far! Looking really good!
Thanks! I hope to finish it soon cause I have more projects I would like to work on.
Looking great dude!
Cool!!!!
Great work Sir
This is excellent, nice work!
😃👍
Great job.
awesome, have you worked on it recently?
Thanks! Well I am working on another one right now, but I plan to upgrade this old project later.
hello
what the dog doin
Bro, why not add an ai assistant to it instead of just making it so basic?
Hi 😁, Yeah Unity has AI stuff, so that's a good idea but I have not gotten that far yet, I'm building this project on my spare time so currently I am focused on finishing the body and hardware build, installing sensors, and 3D printed parts, then after that I will work on AI stuff, maybe I will use Unity Machine Learning Agents.
@@y-spectrum-2470 do you have instagram or any other social media bc I have this idea I wanna run by you.
@@iamyukimaru7582 sure my is Instagram is: jeanay_up
@@y-spectrum-2470 check dms bro
Very impressive work
Soooo Cool.... 😀
Very impressive my friend...you done some amazing stuff on it...have a safe and happy new year 🎉
Thanks Ray! Happy new year
Yes, the mechanical design is excellent! I like that it's not just like all the other robot dogs that are out.
Thanks man! Yeah I try to follow nature as much as possible and add futuristic elements my designs.
Good job ! What is its weight? Anyway, happy new year 2023. From Paris.
Thank you! Yes 2023 is here, well it weights about 7 pounds but I will see if I can make it a bit lighter with some optimization later
Hardware is looking good!
What library for ultrasonic? Need not blocking code. I use accell stepper motor library. Thanks
Hi, well I'm using an Adafruit Time of Flight Micro-LIDAR here which is an upgrade from the ultrasonic I wanted to use originally, so I used the Adafruit Python library included on their site for Raspberry Pi because I used Python to write the code for the robot.
Keep doing what you're doing. The word "genius" comes to mind. Awesome work. Never stop improving.
cool
the channel Engineer M ua-cam.com/users/EngineerM has a great series on inverse kinematics if you need the reference for coordinated movements. your bot is incredible and the design is amazing so I have a feeling you already know how you're going to implement it. can't wait to see more progress
Thanks! I do like futuristic designs whenever possible, and yeah I just plan to use the Unity game engine to handle most of the inverse kinematics math, I have a functioning dog IK rig (the one from my Unity Articulation Body dog simulation Test videos) but it's a good idea to have more options 👍
Awesome dude! Super cool idea to use unity to track the motion.
wow... spot jr..c great work😃
Wow you're making alot of progress...can't hardly wait to see the robot completed...it looks totally awesome my friend..keep up the great work hope you have a great day 👍
Thanks Ray! Yeah, getting there slowly but surely
