Pressure Washer Won’t Start (Troubleshoot After Refilling Fuel)
Looks awesome. I’m going to get some. After 2 years in I found HUKS and that greatly improved my metal roof abilities. Thanks man, great info
Absolutely! Come back and let me know what you think once you wear them a while.
@ I will.
Do you park you gear in the garage or cover? The electric motor reel is waterproof?
I park it outside right now because I don’t have a place to park it inside. Everything is waterproof but I have a tarp that goes over it in cold weather and a heater for the back to keep stuff from freezing. It doesn’t get freezing cold up here very much but it does happen a few times per year. I definitely recommend to park your equipment inside if you have the ability to but it isn’t a requirement as long as things are put together to make it waterproof
love that skid, who did you have build that for you?
all clean power systems
plus those things bend the arms and then lose their holding strength if you have to adjust a lot
Absolutely, or they crumble in the cold. Pretty much everyone should use circle clips.
That’s just moss.
That is moss. And it should not be on your asphalt shingle roof because it breaks down your roofing material, holds in moisture that causes roof damage over time and destroys the UV reflecting properties in your roofing material.
@ ok do it need to be cleaned yearly?
@DonnaChamberson with a roof wash (softwash) you need it washed every 2-4 years depending on your location, how much sun you get and how many trees you have around your house. Up here in the NorthWest it is common to need it every 2-3 years due to the long wet season, lots of trees and perfect growing conditions for moss and algae
Washing the roof will cause more damage than leaving it alone.
Softwashing a roof does not cause damage and it actually the recommended method by roofing companies like GAF. Things that do cause damage: - Allowing moss, mildew and algae to grow on and feed off of the roofing material. - Scrubbing a roof with abrasive metal brushes which remove grit. - Cleaning the roof with high pressure (such as a pressure washer) which rips up roofing material. Insurance companies are refusing the issue homeowners insurance for homes that have moss on them. It is not just an aesthetic thing, it is a health and longevity boost for your roof.
@ExteriorCleaning4Real agree to disagree. For everything. Including your insurance comment. But if I was correctly you would have as much business.
Just watching you go near the edge and looking over made me nausy.
Definitely hire someone to do your roof for ya. That is a very common feeling. It means your self preservation meter isn’t broken like mine.
Im in washington. What would you charge? Rambler, 1800 sqft
It depends on the roof condition, material, pitch and access. Between $600-900 typically in my area. Minimum $500 **This information is for education purposes and is in no way a quote or estimate. For a quote from the company I own, please go to SpartanWG.com and follow the Quote links.
Red Bull gives you wings. Hazard pay for sure.
Lol
Wish I had more roof jobs. Most people don’t realize their roofs can be soft washed.
We just have to get better at educating people on what roof washing is and how it is beneficial. Try talking to them about the price of a new roof or the cost of having home owners insurance cancelled
Do a flip!
He's flipping the house 🫨
I always figured the rain washed the roof.
Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. Roofing material feeds organisms that eventually turn your roof black and grow moss. Roof washing prevents that growth or kills the growth that is already there. Pressure should never be used on roofing material because it can cause damage

Nice job throwing big words around. Really, any household cleaner will work.
Use white vinegar if worried about vegetation dying. Vinegar won't kill it.🌱
Perfect!
Thank you for the advice.
Absolutely. Hope it helps
What about the surrounding vegetation and …
Good question. Rinsing before and after will keep the surrounding vegetation from getting damaged. In the case of this video, the type of surrounding vegetation is tough and it was rinsed down thoroughly. The ground was also rinsed completely after the video. If you DIY make sure you wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messed up in case you splash. And yes, always rinse rinse rinse
Right up until the bleach gets onto your plants and you watch them die and nothing will grow again. Maybe soap and a scrub brush instead? My BF had a puppy die from parvovirus and someone told him bleach kills that. He sprayed his yard - everything died including a big old tree - 30 years later still nothing grows.
That is tragic. I work with bleach every day and have not seen it do that much damage. Normally the correct dilution and proper before and after rinsing will ensure everything is diluted to a safe level. I’m so sorry to hear you had that experience :/
@ Hi, That was years ago another life he had. I would gather he did full on bleach and saturated everything. Good to know diluting it doesn’t do that kind of damage.
Ty
Makes perfect sense😊
So… clean it… got it
lol. Yep. But don’t do it with a rag like some people try to
Hey I love the content! I’m basically starting a business of my own and people ask me how I learned everything and most of what I know is thanks to people like you sharing content like this. What is your sprayer gun called? I’m new to the game and really want to use what you got.

@@ExteriorCleaning4Real Washington woot woot 🙌
@legsalot1743 do you have any experience washing roofs?
@ExteriorCleaning4Real 6 Months, why you hiring?
@legsalot1743 possibly soon
For that kind of work with no experience, 19 an hour at least. What kind of chemicals though? And would you provide health insurance for when I’m dying a slow and painful death from said chemicals?
The easiest way is to not consume meat.
Hahaha! That’s great
I consume it all so nothing goes to waste 👍
These comments are great! Haha, keep them coming.
Freeze all foods that will smell. Freeze in a bag. Then set in can on pickup day. Even if picked up late in the day, no flys or smell.
And, I still bleach down nearly every week. WHY? If, That was my job , I would be glad for a clean can. Those guys have a really nasty job and hot days, WOW.
I’m new to the whole soft wash process. I’ve only done two houses so far. I ended up not brushing the bulk moss off first on the last house I washed. I’m certain that I killed it all by the way the moss was white/ squishy to the touch. The question that I have is will Mother Nature still be enough to knock off the bulky spots or should I go back and brush it off still?
It will come off eventually but if there is a lot of bulk then it may be best to at least go blow it off or brush off the big stuff. It really just depends on what you agreed to do with the client. The longer that bulk dead moss sits up there the more things can get stuck on the roof and restart the eco system. Check back in a month or two and see what it looks like. Then offer to blow or brush it off if it is still bad looking
@@ExteriorCleaning4Real Thankyou, I think I’ll go do a follow up just to be safe.
@aaronyoung5036 document the followup so you can show people what it looks like after x number of days
Shoot a video about the safety measures you use at work. It's quite dangerous to walk on a roof
I will work on getting one put together. Thank you for the suggestion
Wealth to me means Health. Your health is your true wealth. When you feel great you are great.
I like that one a lot.
How’s it going Brandon! Let me introduce myself, I’m Angel…. I will keep your friend, since you asked, in my prayers! And to you, I say this, not many, in fact very few will praise God the Father and our Lord Jesus as you and I will! But to the point of not understanding God and His plans, is a simple answer, to find wisdom and understanding of Him, read Job 28:20-28 and the beginning of the first 7 chapters of Proverbs, at least the first 20-25 verses of each chapter…. And do this within your heart and mind, in your office, in your bedroom, wherever you choose my friend to yourself, and that’s the beginning of wisdom and you will get understanding. It is a bit to read but if not studied it’s in vain. You will find good advice, good ideas, different approaches to your business from men and that’s great, but if you focus on the wisdom of God for your soul, then all the stress, all your worries in life will come together, and you feel peace within yourself and sleep better. I may give you much advice in your business, simply because I am still researching and debating on what business to start and work with my own hands, but in the Word of God, everything about the life on this earth is written… for everything has a time including the earth: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, Isaiah chapter 24…. And no, I’m crazy or Kookoo! LOL… and no, there is no such thing as a businessman evangelist, unless he still owns the church building (business), but that’s it my friend, hope you and your family are well, be at peace, I will everyone in my prayers! Take care be safe
thanks for the prayers brother!
Absolutely! Get well quick!
Love it. ❤❤
Thanks!
I stay busy with Gutter cleaning during the Winter. What is the pricing per foot difference between leasing and selling to the client? Thanks
I’m glad to hear gutters are keeping you busy! Pricing over the long run isn’t much different but if you sell the lights to the customer then you run the risk of them losing or destroying them and you only charge for labor + margin after. Leasing (at least how I do it) the cost of the lights is factored in over a 5 year period and includes maintenance and storage. So if you sell someone their lights it would cost them about $3-5 per linear foot (depending on your markup) + labor the first year and then just labor each year after.
Good job man!
Thank you!

Welcome to the channel! How are things going so far for you? What services are you offering? I look forward to hearing how things progress
@@ExteriorCleaning4Real so I'm offering pressure washing and painting. I've done a few house washes and concrete cleanings. Adding windows as an add-on. I've got my LLC and website. Just got Google my business , but only 3 reviews so far. And they were on FB so idk if they will show on Google or not. But it's hard for me to find my Google my business let alone a customer finding it? Any advice?
@BradMorris-vt9uk for services, make sure you are focusing on one or two main services so you don’t get spread too thin. For google, log into your google my business and go to “get more reviews” copy that link and put it on all your invoices and follow up texts. Don’t be afraid to ask for reviews. If you have google maps on your phone you can sign in using your business login and keep track on your phone. Make sure notifications are turned on so you see when people leave reviews. When they leave reviews, use chat GPT to help you create good responses. Prompt: “reply to this review using SEO terms “insert copied customer review here”” Feel free to shoot me an email if you want to set up a call and I can go over this with you in more detail
@@ExteriorCleaning4Real shoot me your email. I just got my GMB suspended. Idk why. This was my 2nd attempt on starting one. I hope I fixed it and appeal gets approved.
@BradMorris-vt9uk it is in the channel bio. That sucks about Google. I hope they give you your page back
I definitely believe networking works. I've found some good mentors that way in my field. The slow season is coming, I had a lawn mowing company when I was younger and would offer to hang Christmas lights and wrap trees. I agree with your guy to get more personalized instead of commercialized and yet still finding out what the client wants most.
What networking methods do you use now? What industry are you currently in?

Did I hear correctly? I got paid 1300 for 2.5 hours work?
That’s correct. A little more time if you count cleanup once I got back and reset but yes. Jobs fluctuate from $100-600+ per hour but you have to factor in all your business costs. It isn’t as much as it sounds

That may be the worst condition of a roof that I have ever seen. Where are you? I am just guessing the Northwest, maybe.
Hi Brandon, Informative video. Where do you buy Lauramine Oxide and Superscent Lemon from? Thank you in advance for sharing the infor.
I get mine from Wesmar Co in Seattle. You’re welcome!
Hey Brandon I would like to ask how can I achieve the 1% solution out of 13.5 % SH if I have 4gpm machine
@jordanafunggol9543 you can get a general pump chemical injector 2.1mm for a 3-5gpm machine. It is rated as a 20% draw although they do fluctuate depending on the tips you are using to apply the chemical. You can draw directly from your SH tank. You will get anywhere between a .8-2% mix. You should get the injector and do a draw test by measuring out 1 gallon of liquid and dropping your draw line in. Run your machine until that gallon is gone and then do the math for how many gallons of water you put out to use up that one gallon of test water (in place of your SH). I have found that with my machine I draw less chemical than the injector is rated for when I do the draw test. This is all estimation, don’t get too stuck on exact output. It is rare to get too strong of a mix when using a chemical injector. Give it a test and let me know how it goes.
Thank you so much for the swift reply. I did a ran test and with my machine draw a 1 gallon of chem (water for a test ran) and 4 gallon of water coming out from the tip of my lance
@jordanafunggol9543 yikes! That is a hot mix. What are you using for your injector? If you start with 12.5% mix and end up with 4 gallons of total output and one gallon of that was SH then you have a 1:3 ratio. 12.5% divided by 4 (total parts) is equal to 3.12% SH. That is about what you would need for stucco or brick. Don’t wash vinyl with that or you will oxidize it.
It’s not just your line of work. I have an online retail business selling goods on eBay and Amazon and my net income is down around 25%. These price increases across all areas of life are crippling everyone.
@@scarletspider1240 hopefully that changes soon! Right now I think we all have to find ways to cut costs and ride the storm out
What’s up brother! As far as speaking about others, your humbleness and kindness is noted! But as long as you understand, when you need help and it’s not returned, don’t let it break your peace. Now! When you sprayed the HOT SAUCE! Most everyone leaves the chem on the roof, but how often do you come across customers that don’t want the chem left on their rooftops? And in those cases, how long do you leave it to dwell before rinsing? Did you use a 5% or 6% HOT SAUCE? Take care!
@@understandwithyourheart3435 thank you for the kind words. I don’t rinse unless the customer requests it. In that case I wait for at least 15-20 min. The moss is dead within a few minutes because I use 4-6% soliton. This roof I used 5% Thanks for the comment!
I've cleaned gutters for years and I would caution you not to walk on moss or leaves and they can send you to the ground quickly. Also noticed the roof give some when you walked on it. Should inform the customer that they have rotten boards.
Good points! Thank you
They need moss removal also. Next season sell that before they clean the gutters. Nice video man thanks !
Thanks! I did the lower roof after the upper roof (softwash) but I clean the gutters out before soft washing. Hadn’t brushed the lower roof yet during this video
