Watching the start of something new again, it's funny how Troy (a guy who, in lore, has never sang before) immediately knows how to sing the supporting melody of a song (Gabrielle sings the main melody) I am also a guy who has never sang before and I cannot wrap my head around supporting melodies XD

We often bring up Drew being an understudy in the movie… BUT what I’d like to know is who is the female that assisted Vanessa Hudgens in singing When there was me and you??? Vanessa sang the majority of the song but if you go back and listen closely there is an obvious unfamiliar voice in the very beginning & in between the song that assisted Vanessa in hitting some alto vocals.

Wow, a near 8 min video got stretched into 30 minutes from all the pausing and back-tracking I had to do to read all that text. Good job 😂

It seems that some people in the comments aren't aware the reason on why he didn't sing the whole songs is because he just was going through puberty when the music recordings happened 😭 even Disney gave him the option to keep the lip sync in the 2nd movie but he strongly denied that option. He wanted to sing and I'm glad because in my opinion his voice hits different and better.

they should’ve just let him sing, he sounds absolutely amazing as it is & now he’s gone on and done hairspray & the greatest showman, if they hadve just gave him the chance to prove himself, the franchise would honestly be more successful tbh

Then hear him in Then Greatest Showman. He has improved leaps and bounds. I know his signature pretty boy looks have turned into something more rugged, but I’m sure there are plenty of roles that’d still fit in musicals. He is wonderful in all of his roles, but I’d love seeing him in more musicals.

I loved his singing in Hairspray which was not long after this and how I was first introduced to him. "It Takes Two" is on the soundtrack but mostly cut from the movie except one line 😢 but it's my all time favorite of his. "Ladies Choice" was also really good though
