Whitebaiting During A Flood - 2024
The first day of the 2024 season on the river with the boys.
The river is extremely dirty and high due to heavy rains over the past few days bu that wasn't going to stop us from getting a net in.
It wasn't the best days fishing but the weather cleared up and we managed to go home with a feed which is what we came for so overall not a bad start to the season.

    I-recall catching six snapper in half an hour where I could touch the bottom with the dinghy oar and have my hand out of the water. Tauranga harbour.

    I personally have a slight fear of heights and I did the one in Auckland a couple weeks ago, in the rain. I remember doing level 2a and thinking its easy with my mates, and not checking where we went after, and by the time i had realized that I was on the hardest level 6, I was too high up to get down. Let's just say it was kind of traumatizing and I was shiddin myself.

    Hmm, why do you call this "non-permanent"?

    • @JKWILD
      @JKWILD 2 місяці тому

      since I haven't concreted the posts in it'll be a lot easier to remove than if they were concreted and I feel like concreting anything is always with done with idea that it'll be permanent

    Do you think coloring the pucks so you know how many you have got on your opponents side is an idea worth doing.?? Looks like fun though.

    • @JKWILD
      @JKWILD Рік тому

      I though of that but all the pucks just end up getting on both sides and it doesn't really matter which ones you start with as the aim of the game is to get all of them on the other side

  • @mauricebrown9094
    @mauricebrown9094 Рік тому

    I agree with all that you said about making things with what you have. I did Subscribe and will watch all your video's. I feel that Kiwi's get charged so much for not only flies but all kinds of fishing gear. We all start somewhere and having ideas about different lures is a good thing. Catching something that you made yourself is a wonderful feeling. I wonder if you know anyone who likes to make there own spinner lures.?? I mean fishing spinners with a hook, split ring, wire, beads or weighted bodies, clevis's, and blades. Or even someone who uses Divers. Or Jig heads covered with Bucktail. ??????????

    Unlucky to go empty handed but also understandable, I've dived around wellies b4 and had trouble finding anything. Nevertheless very nice visibility and stunning underwater scenes. I'm prolly abt your age so would be keen to go for a south coast mission next time I'm down there, maybe near red rocks or tarakena.
