DoJo Homestead
Приєднався 1 лип 2023
Welcome to our chronicles of DoJo Homestead.
Where does the name come from? My husband’s first name is Donald and my first name is Joanne. As you can see, the first two letters of each of our name create’DoJo’.
DoJo also means ‘place of the way’ in Japanese.
Here’s the definition from Wikipedia: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dojo
‘is a hall or place for immersive learning, experiential learning or meditation.’
That’s how I feel about gardening
Perfect name- don’t you think?
This video is just me (Joanne) showing and explaining the process of making the Produce Garden.
During the pandemic 😷 of 2020 I discovered several UA-cam channels that I follow everyday. Even now. I was inspired by Garden Answer, Self Sufficient Me, MiGardener, The 1870’s Homestead, Flower Hill Farm, and several others that I discovered more recently. Those listed above gave me the knowledge, and confidence to start my own Flower garden and Produce garden.
I hope you enjoy and learn from us too.

We planted our cool weather vegetables yesterday and covered them for the overnight with pots and clear plastic clouches. We did that as it temperature went down to 5C and to protect them from any critters. They survived the night! Then I decided to give you a garden tour/update. Featured are Gus the Golden Retriever and his brother, Tiggy, the Chocolate Labrador Retriever and Mia the Black Lab...

5 wks out of commission Health status
Переглядів 2010 місяців тому
Health status I want to let you all know why I hadn’t posted in quite a while. 5 wks and still coughing and tired. COVID knocked me out. 2 weeks off work and in bed. Forced myself back to work as I am self-employed and have no benefits. Hubby did a lot taking care of me and looking after the dogs and cats. Unfortunately, the outside stuff got neglected. Lots to do before the winter cold kicks in.

Purchased today just trying to close the blades
I use my one handed reciprocating saw for smaller limbs, but this would be handy for confined spaces or awkward to get at brush by a wooden or chainlink fence. You can do a lot of damage with the movement of the blade from a reciprocating saw.Great pruning tool for cleaning up overgrown trees/bushes.
Yes. Exactly 👍
Plz make more vids like this i enjoy it
Thank you. 😊
they're good boys!!!
One boy and one girl. But yes, they are.
Ty for sharing can watch you garden all day
So nice of you
@@DoJoHomestead hope you make more vids
Just posted one today.
I’ve gotten rid of stumps like that before. To get as low as possible, dig away as much dirt as you can to give your saw more room to get closer to the ground. Like you said, saw off the smaller stems first for safety. After you saw it off as low as possible, you can cut grooves across the surface to make it rot faster. Painting the fresh cut with undiluted roundup will help stop it from growing new shoots without damaging any surrounding plants. Question: how do you close the blade on the trimmer for storage? I hate the idea of storing it in the open position.
Oh thank you @peterkassber6130 I’ll do that in the spring. I actually press the button as if I’m cutting something and then pull out the battery. They stay closed for me.
Prend soin de toi !!💞
Merci @lisacrockett3706 🥰
