It will be good to try a nice quality puck which comes recommended by John, especially since those pucks from Mr Fine are long gone. So, I ordered the Fresh Shave and the Eucalyptus ones by Rebel to try out. I will be sure to soften the puck a bit before twirling- don't sweat it John, your second lather looked most excellent. First of all, go ahead and shave the stashe,,,in fact go right back to your service days and go clean for your wife. She'll love you looking like that 25 yr old coastie again. That's my 2 cents worth. John intrigued me sufficiently with endorsement and scent description that I went to check out Elysian Soap Shop's new Constantine (already sold out as of this writing). I know, I know about the rising cost of scent oils. However, this cottage industry maker has priced her soap at the high end of the range at $25. Seems like only the French price higher. I think perhaps it's time that some viewers who are the consumers begin to speak up on prices. What is the cost to produce and package? The profit margin? Is it 100%, 200%, 300%? More? Producers might consider that consumers will find it easy to pass on aggressively priced products, whether endorsed or not.

Saying that a soap is one of John's favorites and on his best of the year list is a high compliment. That did it for me, plus I love the idea of a combo of splash and balm. That's a new concept for me so I had to just go and order both. Counting on you John! But no worries, everyone swims at their own risk in these waters. Speaking of waters, I love the added coast guard culture bro. I always like looking in on Cape Cod Wet Shaving. Btw: the prices for these items are reasonable, and the back story about the maker is quite interesting too.

Nice video John. The 6C was my first DE razor. I don’t like overly aggressive razors either and I was fairly regularly using it with the 5 and 6 plate and didn’t find it overly aggressive before I eventually gave it to a coworker starting out.

Great shave, and got myself signed up for the alpha razor collab you are doing with Steve. Looks like it is going to be an amazing razor!

Got to stay that the best part was the storytelling. And yes, I am a new DE razor user who got some Proraso Green to round out ordering a synthetic brush from Fendrihan.

Seems like, unless they are ancient, its like brushing your face with straw.

I would LOVE to do pucks only. It would let me cut the price so much. Customer buying habits though just couldn’t justify it anymore though unfortunately.

Yes, the Fine pucks have been discontinued. A year ago. Maybe two. The croapy soap is good but nothing like the puck. Or very different experience, anyway.

In these Inflationary Times. HERE IS AN EASY WAY TO DO IT MY FRIENDs Use any hard Bar Soap, Tallow or Glycerin based Soaps out there? To fit in any Mugs or Cups? Like" (Mitchells' Wool Fat or Arko Sticks. Just to name a few of them?) You can mix and match your old Soaps? Cut up the soap on a paper plate, pour your soap chunks with the shavings from the Paper Plate into a Mug, cover the soap with a small amount of water, and microwave your soap. For about a minute or so? Place a paper plate under your mug in case it bubbles out of your cup? If it foams up, STOP. The water keeps it from burning itself up. (DON'T OVER WATER YOUR SOAP??) Easy, does it? Let cool don't want to Crack the Mugs or Cups you're using? (You just want it to Congeal in your Mug or Cup') it is very hot and watery'''''. let it cool in . PLACE'. after it cools, put it in a Sunny Window, until the Soap hardens? When using your soaps, use Dry Brush Less Water. It thickens the soap, making it easier to use on your face. Congrats and I got the zomchi classic for my wife she felt it was too aggressive so I tried it on my face and was shocked how well it shaved. Best $20 razor out there in my opinion.
