The Resonance Sessions is a powerful collection of live recordings featuring 35 regional musicians, captured in the weathered shell of the Old Marshall Jail. Recorded over four days following Hurricane Helene and born from the shared experience of surviving a devastating storm, these sessions hold a heartfelt intimacy as each artist, deeply rooted in Western North Carolina, brings forth a raw, local perspective on resilience through their music.
The performances resonate with emotional intensity, the audio reverberating hauntingly through the space. Room mics capture the jail’s natural acoustics as well as the ambient sounds of tractors and passing military convoys, layering a heavy sense of place into each track.
The project represents a labor of love, grief and resilience, performed, recorded, filmed and produced by Western North Carolina artists.

“Watching things unfold- this time on the other side of the frame." Its been just over 4 months now since Hurricane Helene devastated this area. Asheville was often considered a safe zone for extreme weather and natural disasters. We all would see devastation in the media of places far from here and now we have experienced it from the other side first hand.
This is the first of many more video releases to come, leading up to the mid-March release of the Resonance Sessions digital and triple vinyl albums.
