AJ Quartermaine and His Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Life, written by Stephen King, portrayed by Billy Warlock.
Coming from the "Love in the Afternoon" era, I never thought AJ's story would end this badly. I foresaw:
~ Getting custody of Michael and: 1) Screwing him up; 2) Being a great parent, but too late to keep him from going to the dark side; 3) Neglecting him so he goes back to Sonny, or 4) Turning him into Sonny's sworn enemy - seemed like this was what AJ had in mind.
~ Even before AJ's murder, I began imagining the worst: 1) In jail, shanked or Dead Man Walking; 2) In the nuthouse, lobotomized; 3) Living in the catacombs; 4) Dying from cirrhosis; 5) Murdering the Qs with tainted canned salmon, OR -
5) Drunk with Skye and ... EWW. This is where I stopped letting my mind wander.
Couldn't be more evil than seducing drunk AJ to get pregnant, giving his child to another man, then never letting him near his child.

And to think that before he was taking a hotel lobby full of hostages, in 2007, that Jerry Jacks would be making his first outrageous introduction by ending up on a video broadcasted at the 1999 General Hospital Nurses Ball. That was james craig in 2007. I believe the real jerry (julian stone), was being held hostage somewhere.
Because of what happened in AJs birth, Monica and Akan never truly did accept him. It's no wonder they showed favoritsm towards Jason, and Emily and even Dawn to an extent.
He was already the son that they always wanted.

Bobby was really a great actress. I remember the scene I believe and there was another one when Michael thought Michael was dead and Carly said sorry Mom Sonny is not seeing anyone today and she marched up the stairs and you know games her opinion.

Jason and Carly turned him into this monster and refused to take accountability for taking the man’s son from him. We all have fucked up families that’s no excuse for justifying taking his son form him and I’m the biggest Jason fan. Right is right and wrong is wrong

I know the story of of AJ abducting Michael. But why did the plane go down and why was AJ on it ?
Good question, should be because AJ was on the plane to redirect it so he could kidnap Michael without involving Morgan and Kristina, but the crash was unexpected. That's what I gathered from dialogue after AJ was found to be alive, not sure if there is an official story.
AJ certainly had his faults but I remember Carly getting him drunk the night Michael was conceived. I member Carly deciding Sonny was a better catch and I remember Carley using the rift between AJ and Jason to her advantage. In a lot of ways Carly was just like Bobbie in her early Port Charles years.

Jennifer Bransford, in retrospect, was not horrible as Carly... but she just was not entirely right for the role. She reminds me too much of Alexis!
Can't help thinking that what Michael says is not incorrect, and I can't blame AJ for thinking this after years of dealing with Carly. She used Michael like a bargaining chip and if she was going to stay with Sonny, she didn't need to use Michael once Morgan was born. Not that they wouldn't keep Michael, Sonny really loved Michael and he is his namesake so nothing would change, but technically, theoretically, Michael had outlived his usefulness to Carly at this point.

Carly finally got to see the real Bobbie !!! Thank goodness. I love when Bobbie is like this. Most of the time shes smiling and supportive. But Bobbie definitely have that fire in her. Love Bobbie

Because of how primitive his birth was AND the fact he was conceived during Monica's affair with Rick made him the black sheep despite being the only legitimate one made it impossible for him to be truly accepted. Guza didn't do anything to let AJ have his own standing and nade him Port Charles's punching bag. Is it any wonder he hasn't been back since the early 2010s? At least Sean Kanan is doing well as Deacon Sharpe

Im going to defend emily she going through some stuff she was violently SA. What AJ was talking about at that point she heard it all before and was netural but her give care was busted at this point.
Loved AJ and as much as I adored Sean Kanan in the role I think Billy Warlock played him great, too. Alan should've had AJs back, so to speak...

Alan was the biggest perpetrator he constantly put down AJ even before he caused Jason’s accident He told his brother Jason Q that it was hard because dad & mom love jason more and that’s why he started drinking because his dad said if only AJ was more like Jason Jason was smarter kinder He was the perfect Son Monica love & favored Jason because she was filled with guilt over the fact that she didn’t except him right away It wasn’t until she held her baby Jason that she fall in love with him at the moment, she held him that became her son but she felt guilty of her whole entire life Alan was always harder on AJ He treated his kids like crap if they didn’t live up to his expectations except for Emily and AJ never could live up to its expectations and Jason excelled at it. He was Alan perfect son a straight a student he did volunteer work and community center work for fun he was going to be a doctor and Alan always used to tell AJ Why can’t you be more like Jason the Alan used to call AJ so many names

Alan was a horrible father to AJ. The whole reason he started drinking, was because of his parents AJ told Jason, when Jason was still Jason Quartermaine I could never measure up against you Monica favored Jason, because she felt guilty about not excepting him right away when he was a baby but the moment she held him, fell in love with Jason That was her son her baby from now on Alan hated when AJ was first born didn’t know if he was his actual son because Monica was having a affair with Rick Weber when the paternity test came back Alan loved AJ however, any time AJ would mess up, Alan would never let AJ forget it and Jason Quartermaine could do no wrong. He got straight A’s. He did volunteer work. He liked helping people he was going to be a doctor he was Monica and Alan favorite son he was Edward’s favorite grandchild, even though they would disagree AJ basically killed him and Alan hated AJ and then he hated Jason for not being that person anymore. It’s like the moment Jason stopped, living up to his families expectations and stop being the perfect golden son. He was no longer useful Alan only love and compassion and care for AJ after he was gone

The actor who played Edward (Jed Allen) is actually younger than Stuart Damon (Alan), his TV son.
Heh heh cell phones threw a wrench into this plan. If it was before cell phones, AJ wouldn't have had to bribe the pilot. Those were the days, huh?
