poor design
Hi guys, I have 2012 S60 1,6d2 but with bigger battery OEM 30659531, I replace it by smaller one Exide EK091 which is analogue to 31296300. I’m not sure but for now it works, even it’s for 60A smaller. Could someone give me advice why same cars and engines has different auxiliary batteries, thanks
Why not using the GPS cable under the nose?
Those scotch locks are the worst Over 40 years in automotive trade Cant tell how many issues i repaired because of those things

Hi, thanks for the video. Where did you mount the front dashcam?
That.. well that was a most difficult matter 🙃 . It's mounted beneath the LED light in the air intake. I had to disemmble the oem mount and just use the plate part and a cable tie to fix the camera to the plate. Then stuck the plate with the provided 3m double sided tape under the scoop. I may adjust later it's good enough for now clear view of road. But side view is a bit hindered by placement.

Sorry, didn't understand where that yellow wire is going. Do we have a ACC fuse on GS?
Yes there 2 fuses under need the fuse cap under the seat. One is 7.5 Amp you can use a fuse tap into that 7.5A or splice in to red blue line with provided splicer see. 2.32 min on video

Seems like a motorcycle lithium battery would be better suited for this little battery and last 10x longer than lead acid
Do you mean extended life or more restarts before it needs charging? I still can't believe these little batteries can rsstart a 2 litre diesel
@@AndrewBarry65 these don't start an engine. they keep the electrics on once it stops. Main battery does the starting.
@@Skyrocket888 I read somewhere that they are the source for the electric power steering and the stop/start restarts. But I agree that the power to turn over such a bug engine must need more cranking amps. Maybe when it's hot it's not so difficult? Maybe it runs another system to trigger the starter powered by the main battery?
This is for a UK 2012 S60.

Can we reboot via a trickle charge the "helper or Start Stop" battery from UK mains? If no why not?
Yes. If it doesn't help, top up the battery water to the correct level. Should be just so the plates are covered. I revived a 1v scooter battery from 2001. Working like brand new

Good video man. I have noticed multiple websites in UK selling these as a Volvo auxiliary battery at £35-£50. Even found same Yuasa battery rebranded as aux battery.
Thanks a mil for the video James. I've a V70, 2016 (3rd generation). Layout is practically the same as the V60 in this video. So no problem following your instructions to replace the aux battery. You could change your title to "Volvo V60 or V70 ... " and pick up a few more hits. The glue gun tip works great btw.
