She (the machine) brought u back to me, that was the deal, the machine would give Root, Shaw back, and in exchange she would fake her death forcing Harold to act destroy Samaritan and re upload a free machine. I love how Shaw said it’s complicated, and Root said explain it to me. Then she said she escaped a week ago, and before Root why she didn’t come back to her, she said that she didn’t come find Root because it wasn’t safe.

Think of how damaged Shaw is at this point. Nothing was able to break her as badly as Samaritan did, and you can tell Root is hurt and shocked by that. She would rather kill herself that hurt any of her friends, especially Root. I love Root's smile when Shaw says she was always the one person she refused to kill. Over 7000 simulations could not get her to do so. If that doesn't signify love and loyalty, I don't know what does.

Shaw and Root are the best and I truly regret not watching POI when it was originally broadcasted, but I guess its never too late! now I m grateful to this corona time coz it introduced me to the most wonderful couple that ever existed!
