Time lapse shot with a Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Ice Cream Sandwich by Google. Camcorder was running on 5 sec intervals. Shot 01/11/2012. Soundtrack is Tracking Treasure Down (Extended Radio Mix) by Gabriel & Dresden and shall be removed upon request from the publisher or its affiliates.

Shot this in 720 format and in low light. Should have shot it in 1080. It's shaky but the phone is light and tiny. Audio was also captured on the nexus in camera mode ( no 3rd party audio recording apps). Assembled on Windows Live Movie; if anyone wants to donate a non-expiring version of AVID Studio, please feel free :-(

I was on a crew pouring concrete at the base in about 1967
A respectful nation doesn't go and kill off its mother like that, especially when she had the ill communication.
Back in a time Wheres businesses actually considered the people who worked for them.
Dear ricArchitect. For a publishing project I am looking for the original material of this video. Could you share the DVD files by any chance? Thank you!!

Does anybody know the music used from 2:10 to 4:10?
It was the best place to work.
Breaks my heart. This building is so interchangeable you can't say that it can't be put to use somehow.
Great video. My interest is w/ the building itself and New York Life buildings in general, since the company is responsible for constructing architecturally-rich buildings across the world. May I suggest you do something similar w/ our "new" headquarters, at 51Madison, constructed in 1929? It'd certainly be neat to see the gold dome when it's illuminated in the evening...
Very well done! Five seconds was a good choice for time interval and I particularly liked the movement of the building shadows. I also have the SGN and tried a time lapse in my car at 2 second interval but that was too slow resulting in video that was way too fast. I wish there were options for less than 1 second interval for that application. Nice choice of music also... Brian
Google Nexus took an image every 5 seconds and then plays those images at regular film speed (30 FPS or images per second). 30 images = 1 second of video. The recording in the Nexus is actually about 4 mins long. 11 hours of real time image taking. When using soundtracks, make certain to give credit where due and offer to remove track upon request from owner. Also doesn't hurt to reaffirm that you're not using the video for financial gain.
how long was your Gnex recording in real time and when i posted a vid i made with movie studio youtube took it off because i was using good feeling from flo-rida but they allow you to play gabriel n dresden...pm me your secrets :) great video
this place is awesome, even though its completely abandoned now
It is not abandoned anymore, but if you wont to find more interior photos of the abandoned era of The Bell Labs Holmdel Complex in Holmdel, New Jersey then you should go to this site - ABANDONEDAMERICA US
I know this is 10 years old but I was just there today and wow this place is beautiful. I'm grateful this place did not remained abandoned
Sad now all of these guys work in wall street
Never intended for video (which transfers with the muddy, dull colors seen here) this 1982-83 six-projector multi-image slide show was produced by the internal art department at Bell Labs for the 20th anniversary of the Holmdel facility. Multi-image, considered very cutting edge at the time, is a dead, unplayable format now. Synchronized slide shows were used for Labs employee communication, trade shows, and public presentations from the early 1980s into the early 1990s.
not entirely unplayable - I have been restoring multi image shows as I find them - please take a look - www.youtube.com/@AV_archaeology/videos
Beautiful hands, beautiful drums, beautiful girl...sweet dreams are made of these.
Thank you for posting these videos. I am proud to have been able to work there for 13 years (1977-1990). It was a fantastic facility for a great company.
happy trails: I was there recently and it's not rusted or rotting. It's air conditioned and need a cleaning. Let hope someone does the right thing here.
Thank you for sharing these videos! I always had a fascination with the Bell System and AT&T, and Bell Labs always had a mystique about it. In 1993 I worked for a media production company who filmed some videos at Holmdel, and so I got to visit and work with some engineers there. Finally between 1996 and 2000, I worked for AT&T, and my manager was based at Holmdel for a while until Lucent kicked AT&T out. Absolutely fascinating place. So sad that it's abandoned now and its future unknown...
