I fear this is too complicated, I mean I like the challenge and concept but if there’s not step by stem instructions on the cache page some cachers may get frustrated, and if the wrong person comes along they may be tempted to break into the box to get to the cache container inside, also I’d highly suggest covering the electronics, wiring so cachers won’t be at risk of damaging it
Makes all the hippies happy! Love it!!! Yea we’re not supposed to damage trees etc. I’m putting out a bird house cache soon and was wondering what to use.
I would like to know more about this set up... I'm not overly savvy on the electro type, but this would be worth trying with the proper guidance. Thanks!
Have you published the cache yet? I can't seem to find it on geocaching.com.... would like to come and find it, if only I knew where it is located. GC number please.....
Hey buddy, Thanks for the interest! I used the "5-pin stand-alone capacative sensor" from AdaFruit. I know I could have used the pins on the Arduino, but I had the sensor and was trying to learn more about it. Very easy to use by the way. One potentially limiting factor is that the sensor only reads one input at a time.

Amazing!!!!! Where did you find a 3 color lcd ?
How's the cache doing? How many Fave points?
But how is the maintance and how does it work in winter?
Amazing work
Nice work! What is the GC code?
This is so cool! I wish I saw a cache like this on a hunt
That is so devious. The combo lock is an evil red herring. Well done !
That is absolute genius.
WHERE IS THIS?!?!?!?!
Truly brilliant work!
Pretty amazing!!!!!! What is that noise in the back? Ducks? Or is it the cache??
Pretty sure that was the motorized auto-focus camera he was using. 😉

Amazballs
what in the world is that constant noise? great cache by the way!
I had a pretty awful DSLR camera at the time. That noise is it’s attempt to stay focused.

Can you do a how to on this one?
Yeah. I think I could manage that.

My geo-spidy senses told me that the padlock was a decoy. Cool cache. Love it.
This must be one of the most awesome caches I've ever seen. Really nice work!

kf4foy, thanks for your interest. GC71H69 is what you are looking for.
Got it now, thanks for the reply. Have added it to my list for next time I get to FL.
Awesome cache.
Hey Nick - Great Cache! Thumbs up! How did you realize the capacitive touch? Just with the arduino or did you use some circuit?

Excellent Gadget Cache. Thank you for sharing.
