I agree, age gaps are weird. I am the oldest sibling, I could never date someone younger than me right now. Im currently 19 years old which explains it but if I was 30 I couldn't date someone 4 years younger than me max. Especially since one of my younger sibling would be the same age as my partner, that itself is a ick. I have friends who are 2 years older and they're already so ahead of me. 49:30 when I was almost 30 I dated, or were in a relationship and lived together with someone 10 years older, I didn't really notice the age gap but I think it's way different if you are early or mid 20's and dating someone older, you are basically a teen still at 21, so much happens and you grow up so much in your 20's so I also think a 32 year old dating a 21 year old is not a good thing. 'I think a 21 year old shouldn't date anyone older than 25 and a 25 year old shouldn't date anyone over 30. When you are 30 I think age gaps upwards don't make too much of a difference anymore, not up to 10 years, not until you are getting old, like retirement age, then it's gonna be noticable again. I were also the younger and I'm a very dominant person and we did have lots of interests incommon so I think that made the 10 years difference less noticeable. Someone feeling 10 years younger and not having stuff to do together and talk about and not being able to stand your ground because you are younger that is not good. You need to feel equal and be treated as an equal. But as someone who has dated older than me basically always I think it's best to date pretty close to your age like within 5 years of your age, not more (when both are over 20). More of an age gap and you'll most probably at some point will realize that you are in different stages in your lifes and that it will affect your relationship. and I've had bigger age gaps with more casual encounters so I'm not saying it's wrong and that people can't hook up with whoever they want as long as it's consensual, like I had closer to 20 years difference with a hookup but that was a really nice model/beauty business owner that looked so fine not a random old person.. and it was never meant to become a long term thing. I just don't believe it's a good thing in a relationship to be more than around 5 years apart.
