Mr. Bryant has not only demonstrated his limited proficiency in historical accuracy but for an encore he has also demonstrated a very pedestrian understanding of the Hebrew language. The Hebrew word used in Micah 5:2 has a range of meanings and cannot be limited to the English translation of the word olam. Adventists recognize this fact when they argue that the eternal fire of Jude 7 does not literally mean that the fire will be raging for all eternity. This same limited meaning of eternal is used by Adventist expositors to show that the fires of hell will be for a duration of time and not forever and ever (eternal) as stated in Revelation 14:12. In all fairness Mr. Bryant makes some good points in this presentation but the bulk of his time is spent developing and demolishing a strawman argument. It is a calumny of the highest order to suggest that the pioneers, who were called faithful and true by the Adventist prophetess, denied the full deity of Jesus. This calumny is repeated today against those who adhere to the literal sonship of Jesus. The pioneers rightly understood that the deity of Jesus was rooted in his literal sonship and not in his age. The pioneers believed that the Son was begotten with the divine nature hence the Father and all believers can embrace the full deity of the Son. The exception to this among the most significant pioneers was Uriah Smith who for a time flirted with the idea that the Son was a created being. The faithful and true pioneers took Smith to task and forced him to recant his heretical position.

Mr. Bryan openly admits that he is no historian but yet he proceeds to pontificate as though he is one. Regrettably he does it in such a way that clearly proved his a-historical aptitude. Perhaps Mr. Bryant should defer to eminent Seventh-day Adventist historian George Knight who is on record stating that the most significant pioneers of the Seventh-day Adventist church were staunchly anti-Trinitarian. Knight goes so far as to state that the most significant pioneers were they to come back to life today they would not be able to join the current Adventist Church. Clearly Mr. Bryant does not know who were the foundational pioneers of the Seventh-day church. This is laughably obvious when he presents William Miller as a Seventh-day Adventist pioneer and where did he get 1849 as the date when the Seventh-day Adventist church came into existence. Surely there must be someone in the hierarchy of the Seventh-day Adventist church in Barbados who can school Mr. Bryant on these historical issues.
