@Antonowskyfly happy new years bud!
What an incredible place to prospect Wow
@@mandybrown7758 it’s such a fun place to play :)
Great job all around fam. Keep on having fun getting that Au and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Holy crap man..thats super awesome!! Thanks for another great video!😎
I've wondered about that place. Thanks for showing it.
@@alaskagoldhunter no problem. It’s a fantastic little creek, with much better gold then shared on here ;)
So many times I have passed through Edmonton. I've wanted to stop and explore there and see some of that North Saskatchewan powder gold. That places looks good too.
@@alaskagoldhunter I’ve always wanted to try Alaska! This is right in the city. A easy place to stop if your just passing through to do some panning would be “prospectors point” right off the highway near Devon :)
Will the city give you shit if you take a highbanker down there? Obviously I would not be putting the tailing water directly back into the creek.
@@defgrant They may not appreciate you ripping into all the riparian work they do to the creeks, but I believe you are allowed to.
Merry Christmas from Edmonton , would love to do a trip with you one day,,, I have all my pans , a pick ,shovel, lets go! Happy holidays
Happy holidays :) do you do much digging on the North Sask?
@d.andysprospecting I really never did but have wanted to for 10 years or more. Was dreaming of going to the Yukon in 2020, then the covid lock downs and BS. So sidetracked by world events..
That half oz nugget, ohh man, that had to be a high light! Just watched Kyle's video of that yesterday. You need to post more videos, you find great stuff! Merry Christmas, cheers, Prairie
It was a crazy surprise, I honestly got really lucky :) Thanks, Merry Christmas to you aswell!Hope you have some awesome holidays🎄
Nice finds in those two creeks which I won't name!
@@danhodgins4015 thanks :)
Nice dude I went on the river there in Edmonton but I just have a pan and a sluice I don't have a set up yet but still good fun going out looking for it
Interesting place
Use to high bank the NSR back in the 80's out by Frenchmans Butte. There's gold to be had.
After he mined for 20 years on the Sask. river he had enough to buy a potato
Chinese just really like walls
When I was a teenage kid in Edmonton, my buddies father Mr. Parks always said that through the depression years they did ok , as he would head down to the the river by Goldbar park, named appropriately, and pan gold as his hobby latter in life, then as work and food was scarce during the depression years he honed his panning skills just to feed his family. Many years we would help him take his sowed together welcome mats out to the Egg lake sand and gravel pit where he would place the mats under the screened gravel. Once a week the mats were collected and cleaned of flower gold in the basement. Sometimes the floor drain got plugged, and when we vacuumed out the black sand and residue he would use mercury to collect the gold dust. The mercury wasn’t a good idea then but it worked. I remember passing by 20 or 30 one ounce glass jars sitting in the boot and shoe cupboard at the top of the basement stairs. Mr. Parks would sell the gold to dealers who flew in once a year and pay cash…in those days gold was just $34 dollars an ounce. It was his hobby when he retired, and it kept him in spending money. The one thing that impressed me the most is that when times get really bad , the North Saskatchewan River is there to feed you and your family with a little bit of work involved.
Great video awesome stuff thanks for sharing heavy pans
@@Rockymountainprospector thanks sir, heavy pans to you too!
I was out at Devon beach under the bridge last summer and people were panning for flour gold right on the river. So cool
You are making amazing video content. I just watched the video and your video quality is appreciable. I am so impressed by your content, I was analyzing your channel and noticed that You are struggling with video views and video ranking. May I share some tips on how you can achieve your goals?
Looks like fun. Using buckets to move the dirt might save you time and effort. Cheers
Nice work, buddy!
Save some gold for the rest of us!

Hello, I just started up this prospecting, for flour gold in NSR Roughly 5 month's at it , things are getting some what better with a high banker, had to wait for the mineral license,to come in the mail. I'm set for the spring, I'll be out thier again.... hopefully find a spot in the NSR...I'm just cleaning my 5 gallon pail's ATM... separating the gold from dark dirt...made a Miller table... should work out.. Keep up the good work...😊
Great vid bud ,looking forward to seeing more See ya on the river in 2025😎
@@grinderdel452 thanks Del, hope you have a good winter! Stay warm
Great things happening, looking foward to seeing the new unit@
I'm chasing a Sam Livingston claim on the south Saskatchewan. Just need a boat. Thanx for sharing! Cheers, Prairie 🤠
@@PrairieProspecting that sounds interesting I didn’t know he prospected there aswell! Thanks for watching 🙂
Hey prairie , We totally feel your pain as far as boat access is considered , Check out Solar inflatables at Riverside Motorsports in St Albert. We are older couple and just acquired a Solar 470 with a Yamaha 40/30 jet and it’s incredible. Have a great day. 👍🇨🇦
All that is left is to hop in your canoe and drift down to the ritzy glitz and glamour of Jasper avenue for 25cent oysters and eggs at the MacDonald Hotel. 👍👍🤟🤙
@@Antonowskyfly was good running into you out there this year buddy!
Excellent video Andy...well edited and balanced. Anyone who has made videos can appreciate how one collects hours of video and trims them down into a reasonable video length. This coming year, I too am going to classify my concentrates with my final VDR 3" clean-up sluice down at the river (I run them twice). That way, I just remove the magnetics and back-pan at home. These cleaned concentrates will then be re-run again at a later time. Hope to run into you in the field one of these days.
@@TheJohnEdmonton thank you John! Thanks for giving it a watch :) I think taking your VDR to classify the cons down at the river is a great idea, I like it. I imagine it will be a lot faster then just straight panning everything also. For every hour on the highbanker this year I spent another hour panning nearly :p I may try something like that next season too! I am going to try and check out more spots next season, I look forward to seeing you out there!
Nice set up..great mix of prospecting and scenery in your videos..keep it up and thanks..😎
Great day out there fam. Keep on having fun and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Im a born and raised Albertan. I didn't know there was gold in Edmonton. Very interesting and informative.
@@briandarazs6620 many other rivers in Alberta aswell are good for highbanking. Athabasca, and McLeod are a couple more:)
@@d.andysprospectingAh yes, the McLeod. I'm glad you mentioned that one. I've done some panning on that one. Mostly dust but once I did find a small nugget. Also the scenery is fantastic, not bad fishing either if ya know where to go.
Love your videos showing off the scenery in etown's river valley. Happy prospecting and I'm looking forward to your videos when the snow melts again.
It would be great if you did a one day workshop by the river, I would sign up for it!
I live in Fort Saskatchewan about 30 minutes outside Edmonton. Super green to prospecting but I second this idea for a workshop!
Great video! Keep them coming
Infinties vdr clean up sluice is awesome
Where did you get the mop (matt) you used at 2:36?
Hello, again🤗 I hope you... can tell me where this location is at ? In the NSR... I just started up ,got my mineral license,I have high banker... I usually go Devon Alberta and genesis... But small return's....on flour gold... But ya be appreciated 👍
@@sheilamorin298 congratulations on getting your mineral license and a highbanker! Down at Devon just a tiny ways downstream from the nude beach there in the bank is decent gold. This was at Livingstone’s Slew ;)
Where was this?
Man, this would be an excellent activity to take my kids out for!
Nice !
Hello Where do you go 🤔 I just started Went to 3 place's Panning four the flour gold. I only brought sand home...lol Devon and Genesee and rudell park. Got nothing.darn it... Can you help out,by giving me a location? Would help me out. Going high banking, getting the permit or license, the rock's are going to fly, soon here.lmfao.
Hello Can you give some advice or the trail you toke,im just starting out on this mining hobby, very interesting,i was very close to where you were, but i might toke the wrong creek... Keep up the good work and make more video's
Hello 👍 Can you help me out, where you went ,I tried going where you went but I might of toke the first Creek...not sure how far you got to follow the trail To. But I think I was very close, judging from your UA-cam video I'm just starting out, been to other places, like Devon and genessee. Didn't turn out at all, So, any information or picture's of map's that you toke,to get where were you went
@@sheilamorin298 there is lots of good places around Edmonton, prospectors point is a favourite for many people. It’s on the north side of the bridge there and you should be able to find a little bit every pan, hope this helps!
Thanks for the video. I try to frequent mission creek. Have found a few ok spots that would do you much better than that hole someone else started. I have found all of what you showed in 1 pan there. I am always looking to go panning with people. Have only been doing it 2 years so am pretty green but really enjoying it.
You are one of the modern day legends my man! I respect you put down the camera to go mine and do what you love.
That’s a good spot 🤫
Thanks for taking the time to make another great video😎😎
Thanks for watching!
Wow a video on going for a walk!
