Inside Japan's Most Respected Furniture Workshop, "HIDA Sangyo"

Rarify traveled to the mountains of Takayama, Japan to see the legendary workshop of HIDA Sangyo, a century-old furniture manufacturer that produces some of the highest quality wood furniture in the world. The HIDA region's history of woodworking craft began over 1000 years ago; woodworkers from the area are said to have largely been responsible for crafting the once-capitol city of Kyoto, known for its wooden temples and architecture.
Today, Rarify is bringing HIDA furniture back to the United States for the first time since 1970, including pieces by legendary designers like Sori Yanagi, Kenya Hara and others.
