My 2017 Ford Fusion got the Shift SYS Fault and Ford has these under recall for the 2016 and earlier. However they will not cover the 2017 model with the exact same issue. I purchased the part on Amazon because none of the Ford dealers in North Georgia had it in stock. Here is the link for the part I purchased and it was just over $20.

The part number for the bushing is DG9Z-7K340-A
The part number for the Cap is DG9Z-7S004-A
You can search the bushing part number and the kit will come up with both parts included.
If this happens to you out and about you can always push the linkage down onto the shift lever and it should shift the car at least once. I did this in the field so the car could be driven home and avoid the towing. Please be careful if you get the car home or to a shop that it shifts into park!!! If the car does not shift into park it could roll away, hence the need for the recall in the first place. Be sure to set the emergency brake just in case it may not have shifted into park. Male sure the transmission is in park before making the repair so the linkage is aligned correctly to put back together.
